| As the plot thickens regarding Mewmarket or Glasshoughton the majority of Wakey fans appear not to want a move to Glasshoughton, now i'm not in the know on this one but if Barnsley would have us which would you choose,Barnsley or GH?And why?

| I would choose Oakwell as a short-term measure, as if we go into Glasshoughton, we'll never get out (or go bust in there). If we moved to Oakwell until we could have a new home in Wakefield, I could live with that, but if it became permanent, I couldn't see myself supporting anymore. I support Wakefield's rugby club, not a limited company that shifts its headquarters.

| £20 to Glasshoughton, £10 to Oakwell! nice pint in the mount, plenty of parking and a nice little ground, though i would say that as im a red in the round ball game

| Temporary move to Oakwell makes far more sense to me. A bit of rugby league missionary work, so to speak, the chance of maybe picking up a few new fans, and then a return to Wakey and Newmarket.
I also have it on good authority that "you can buy anything in the world on Barnsley market".

| You have all obviously thought about the cost of this I presume. Our game against Saints cost 35k and with a crowd of 3200 it does not leave anything to the imagination who came out on top. Coupled to that there was no income from the bars or corporate facilities.
Glasshoughton will be a shared facility if this is the destination in all aspects of marketing and commercial receipts. The landlords will not be Cas and that's for sure. The same can be said if the destination is Newmarket.

It wasn't part of the question! I have no doubt you are right, but given a choice, if the figures can be made to work, it's a simple choice = Oakwell.

| Got to be Oakwell. Keep a unique identity.
Would hope that the cost would be reduced if we were there for a long period rather than just a one off game like the Saints one.
A minor plus is that it shafts Box's plans to use us to support his beloved Cas.

| Be careful about leaving WMDC lest SL suddenly come up with a new criterion around clubs having to be located within the council area their name relates to. That said there might be a way in by renaming yourself South Yorks something or other, if necessary absorbing Doncaster/Sheffield along the way. We would be happy to represent the whole of Wakefield, filling the void created by your self-imposed exile and mopping up Trinity fans our side of the city centre

Name change included then? Wakefield Tigers might just do it.

That would also happen if we went to GH, Wakefield Trinity would be dead with 18 months.

| Oakwell.
More likely to be a temporary arrangement. GH would either lead to merger or the junior partner (i.e. us, as we would get less support there) being relegated and becoming the feeder club.
Even if Oakwell became a permanent move they would remain my favourite RL club because of their heritage but once the name changed the passion would die.

| Can't see either working to be honest. If we have to move out of Wakey then that's it for me if we bow out on the pitch fair enough but if it happens any other way then stick the game and the powers that be I'm sure I'll find something else to spend my time and money on.

| its for pure ecomonic reasons than i have gone for oakwell as its less likely that i will have my stereo stolen, plus you would soon tire of the novelty of the stewards having 3 thumbs on each hand and the ease of getting rid of your empty bottles

| oakwell for me. point well made about the cost. werent barnsley in the premier league at that time which would inflate the cost.
if that was to be the venue it would not be a one off game, but a season longand some hard negotiating would have to be done, re stewarding etc and bar receipts etc, but i would imagine we would get fleeced at GH on both cot and franchises
what other clubs share grounds in SL and league 1?

| Tricky one really I think we will lose fans which ever we choose. Alot of fans are very very disillusioned with this years performances and alot are already drifting away. Unless we start stringing a few wins together and finish the season on a high if we have to move elsewhere we will already be starting on a lower fan base. With both Oakwell & Glasshoughton we are competing with Cas, I work in Barugh Green Barnsley and Cas are already in the schools there. I am trying to think of another stadium in the area and how sad there is not one of note. I fear the worst TBH

Ossett Albion? Apparently, they have a 3k capacity stadium. Put some money into that and upgrade it.

| Oakwell for me - thought this would be a good move for a while (new area to drum up support etc.)
Also a bloody sight easier , and probably quicker (with all the traffic congestion getting through town caused by our planning dept.!) for me , straight down Barnsley rd. , 15 -20 mins. & in the ground - MAGIC
