just found this on superleague sight thought u all would want to read
Wakefield Trinity Wildcats have announced a brand new price structure for games at Hearwell Stadium in 2010.
Under the new pricing structure fans who buy their tickets for home games in advance will be guaranteed of being able to see matches at 2009 prices.
Those fans that pay at the turnstiles will, however, face a small price increase with basic ground admission for first team games for the 2010 season going up by £2 to £20.
Under the new scheme fans who have not taken advantage of buying season tickets can purchase their tickets for each home game in advance from the club’s Super Store on Doncaster Road; by telephoning the club’s offices or on line via the club’s web site ( www.wakefieldwildcats.co.uk).
They will receive the advantage of discount and only the fans who have not bought their tickets in advance will have to pay the full price, although a full concession price structure is in place.
Francis Stephenson, the Wildcats General Manager, said: “We want to give Wildcat fans the best possible deal and the new plan will enable people who follow this club to keep the costs of watching Rugby League down during 2010.
“Unfortunately it has been necessary to increase the admission prices at the Hearwell Stadium because the club, like most other businesses in the country, is being hit on a regular basis by substantially raised costs.”
Added Stephenson: “Fans can also cut their costs by buying season tickets and we believe that this is the best way of securing your place at Wildcat matches.
“Our ‘early bird’ deal on season tickets has proved to be really popular and offers fans a significant discount.
“But any fans that haven’t taken advantage of this package and want to save money in their season tickets shouldn’t waste much time in making their purchase because the deal runs out on November 30!”
Wildcats’ 2010 pricing structure is as follows: -
Season Tickets
The ‘Early Bird’ purchase scheme expires on November 30th after which the normal price structure will apply.
Early Bird Adult Junior Concession Family

East Stand £213 £110 £110 £536

If you purchase a ticket in advance match by match the 2009 prices will be still applicable:

| I was just reading that on the website.
I am just a little curious as to how they expect floating supporters to pay an extra 2 quid to go to the game... Yorkshiremen like to watch the pennies and I don't think they'll be coming in their droves on the day.
A pretty pointless idea from the club which I don't think weill work.
**these are my views and mine only, I do not have insider knowledge of the club like most and am just expressing an opinion that is not meant to upset or ruin the club**

Not that many have insider knowledge and most that do will have their own opinions on such as this. I fully accept the reasoning behind this decision (to increase the benefits to season ticket holders without loss of revenue by reducing ST prices), but I just think the timing is wrong. Sorry guys!

Its all about supply and demand at the end of the day, is this the right time to test a failing demand in the worst economic period for 50 years? I think not, odd decision.

| Think we were damned unlucky last year to have most of our potential crowd pullers on telly - definitely ONE of the reasons why our crowds were down so dramatically.

Thats our main problem in that Belle Vue is way past its sell by date. Its not the £20 that will put people off its the match day experience at the ground.
I hope we get that planning moving and by the end of the season we have some dates for moving to the new ground. If we could do that I would make this our last season at Belle Vue and spend the intrim period at a modern stadium.

| I for one am a die-hard Wakefield fan for over 20 years but work commitments mean its not possible to get to every game thus I never buy a season ticket.
I think £20 is pretty high as stated already to come to BV and stand in the bad weather in a run down ground.
£20 a game will make me think twice about shifting work patterns to make it down each game day especially as work alone is struggling.
Bad move in this current climate especially as away fans will begrudge paying that kind of money to stand in the open.
As for the stadium,The wife works for the government and some paperwork has passed through her hands regarding getting the wheels moving on this project at some level.

There are quite a few like you who don't buy season ticket for work reasons. I think we should consider a mini type ticket were you could buy vouchers for a number of games and still get a loyalty benefit.

| This has certainly made me reconsider how many matches I will be going to next season. Living in Peterborough it's already a 200+ miles round trip, I know it is only an extra £2 but that and fuel costs will make it more difficult. I appreciate that times are hard for businesses, but they are hard for everyone. There is no point getting a season ticket because of (the arranged) Friday night matches and then ones that are subject to change for television and the sky saturday games, so it is not cost effective. The club is alienating the floating supporters and the ones who live a distance away.

Good idea that a ticket for say 7 matches @ a similar pricing structure to the full season ticket.

| By pricing Season Tickets at an attractive price then we can get more people snapping them up. By offering 'half season tickets' too, where you get a book of half the vouchers available at a similar price pro rata, then we get more money into the club early doors rather than waiting for the weeks during the summer.
Its much more fun not having to pay out on match day, knowing that you have already paid during the cold horrible months like this.

| SORRY TO SOUND DEPRESSING BUT .................
I find the 2pound increase upto 20 pounds and seating will be 24 pound as it was 22 last year. For 1 how many people decide to go to the match on the actual day? I will answer this and I am certainly sure it is many i.e. spur of the moment ! 2 year ago when we had a increase in our crowds the prices were 15quid on the day. If we put this back to 15 quid it is more than reasonable! Belle vue is a dump these prices are bad for the day of the match and we will turn fans away again. Its no different for me as I buy a season ticket every year. I find it really stupid to be honest. Jump down my throat if you wish but I know I am correct once again !

Its quite simple really, people will vote with their feet. Quite rightly so as well, its a shocking decision and lower crowds next year could spell trouble when licensing time comes around.

| I know the club does community with with Wets Yorkshire Police and i was wondering if the club does any sort of discount for the emg services etc?
Huddersfield did this last year and more and more clubs/organisations are getting involved.
I also think it would be good to go down the help for heros route too - wakefield and surrounding areas are full of young people who have joined the armed forces. it would be nice to recognise their efforts and at the same time possibly attract new fans...
anyone know where the club stands on the above ?

i dont and its not. its obviously a business decision taken by the club to maximise revenue in diffciult times. i personally would have preferred to have seen a reduction to stimulate demand but the club obviously feel that would reduce income and restrict the playing roster. if the club had to do this then everyone would be moaning about that instead.
as for wigan fans chipping in we aren't all lucky enough to be able to share with a premier league team now are we. the club rightly or wrongly is trying to make the best of a difficult situation, only time will tell if they get the decison right

| The raised match day price is purely set to make the season ticket a more attractive proposition thus ensuing greater take up of something which equates to £15 a match with added benefits.
The floating supporter will no doubt be put off as the physiological factor of something costing £20 rather £18 (despite the small numerical increase) will be a major barrier for the causal fan and perhaps a little harder to justify, especially when the matches are on TV.
There are many good proposals put forward on this thread and I like the idea of a discount to the armed forces and emergency services. I would also like to see reduced ticket price for the TV matches and perhaps a first time buyer discount of a season ticket. Also I wonder how feasible a scheme would be where by if you purchase 7 or 8 match day tickets in a year you are able to get a discount on a season ticket for the next.

Under the new scheme fans who have not taken advantage of buying season tickets can purchase their tickets for each home game in advance from the club’s Super Store on Doncaster Road; by telephoning the club’s offices or on line via the club’s web site (www.wakefieldwildcats.co.uk).
Ground £185 £40 £88 £410
East Stand £196 £98 £98 £490
Centre Stand £206 £132 £132 £544
Full Price Season Tickets
Ground £200 £40 £100 £440
East Stand £213 £110 £110 £536
Centre Stand £224 £150 £150 £598
Advance Match Day Tickets
If you purchase a ticket in advance match by match the 2009 prices will be still applicable:
Adult Concession
Ground £18.00 £10.00
East stand £19.00 £11.00
Centre Stand £20.00 £15.00
Turnstile admission on a match-by-match basis.
Ground £20.00 £12.00
East Stand £21.00 £13.00
Centre Stand £22.00 £17.00
Concessionary Prices are available to anyone over 60; a student with a valid evidence of ID and a junior six to16 years old. Junior admission is also available to High School students but the privilege is no available once the student leaves High School.'"
Yeah right a small increase from £18 to £20 thats a rise in excess of 10% a real winner in the current economic climate

Under the new scheme fans who have not taken advantage of buying season tickets can purchase their tickets for each home game in advance from the club’s Super Store on Doncaster Road; by telephoning the club’s offices or on line via the club’s web site (www.wakefieldwildcats.co.uk).
