| Although i don't want this removed i think it should be an automatic red if the tackler gets it wrong and leads with head. KR player may have not meant to do this but think the RFL should put in a rule saying shoulder charge ok but its up to the tackler to get his positioning correct and if not and results is the same as tonights outcome then should be a dismissal.

| The Hull Kr player lead with head though and Amor was upright and isn't the smallest of players. I know what you mean though but think they need to tag some sort of disclaimer to these type of tackles to make sure the defender gets is technique correct. If it had been an outside back receiving one of those the outcome would have been a lot more serious.

| Couldent see it from Northstand too far away and the screen was blocked by the roof! Ill watch it later - have it on record. Referees will give a red for a bad shoulder charge one game and then not on the others, not consistant enough.

| From the east stand, it looked like the KR tackler's head made cntact with Amor's chin at pace, which subsequently knocked him out. I saw it as nothing worse than a clash of heads, even though the KR mans arm was 'swinging'. We got the penalty, I can only assume for the intent of the swinging arm.
Can anyone offer another, possibly more accurate, account?

| He went to wrap his arms round Amor, though his central ball carry and the 'full front' collision bounced mika off and they clashed.Don't think you can be done for a swinging arm around the body. Ref also warned it was because of contact with the head.

I agree.
I'm not a fan of the shoulder charge though, I think players should learn how to grab legs and smother the ball instead.

That was the conclusion I came to...as there was contact with the head, accidental or not, it was a penalty to us.

| Just watched it back and yes it was accidental, Hull KR players went in for the collision, put his head down, went to make the tackle and hit Amor straight on the chin end with the top of his head.
From the look of it Amor's lucky he didn't break his jaw, it was a huge impact. Had to be a penalty because he made contact with Amor's head, although I don't know what Dobson was arguing with the ref about, he was at it a few times tonight.

| I think he could face censure - he lead with his head and as the onus is on the defender to affect the tackle safely, the panel might take a different view to the one expressed on here.
In a weekend when a football player needed gas and air for a stud to the shin, to see Amor trying to run up and down the sideline a few minutes after being out cold in mid-air, reminds us just how tough these lads are.

I'm with you and also to me it looked like he lifted his head in to Amors chin, very lucky IMO and at the time I was convinced he'd broken his chin
On the subject of being tough in RL, a certain Wigan full backs recent quote rings so true "RL players spend 80 mins pretending they aren't hurt"

| It was an accidental clash and not even a penalty IMO. If he penalises the player for leading with the head surely he has to be binned/sent off? Seemed a half hearted decision last night

You're probably right...because if Amor hadnt of been knocked out you could argue that he wouldnt have dropped the ball and play would have continued.

| I didn't think any malice just poor technique but should be punished same as should any bad tackle resulting in injury. I am confident that he will be banned like Moa was for FC last year for same thing. The panel said even though MOA didn't mean to his tackle was poor and banned him appropriately. If banned then a card was also warranted at the time.

| On the subject of dodgy tackle technique...
After watching SL Fulltime last night, it looks like Chase could be in bother again; another dubious tackle, this time on Hardaker, that left the lad out cold. Hard to see exactly what happened, but it definitely had shades of Tangi Ropati all over again.

| Also after watching SL full time, I noticed that lincoln withers' need for stitches came from a the studs of Justin Poore...am I too cynical to think that the RFL will attempt to justify that poore 'stamped' on withers and subsequently reprimand him?

| Looked to me as though Poore was trying to [iavoid [i standing on Withers head, but was unable to as both were involved in what the Union boys may describe as a 'rolling maul' and his leading foot just came down where Withers head happened to be at that moment in time.
I also can't believe how generous you guys are re 'leading with the head'. If he means it - and he did seem to lunge - then it's assault (as well as a straight 'Red'). If not, and he hasn't braced himself, he risks a serious neck injury (to himself). I also think Ganson got it right. He awarded a penalty for a dangerous tackle (accidental or otherwise), said he wasn't saying anything was deliberate and put the incident on 'report' for a panel to look at over tea and hob-nobs. As he said to Dobson (who was a bit vociferous all night - especially to a disciplinarian like Ganson) '...I could deal with this very differently', which I presume to mean flash a Red in addition to anything else.

I'd agree with that - for anyone to suggest that was intentional would be ridiculous.
