Our forwards didnt make enough yards, our kicking game was shocking, we lacked any creativity and our defence was heartless.

For a derby game we lacked hunger, desire and controlled aggression in my opinion. I have to question Agars ability to get players up for games

The team were pathetic, there is no excuse for that sort of play. We would have done better with David Blunket at stand off and the bloody rolley polleys as the back 4. Get bloody Agar out and Jason Dometriou in, drop Smith and Mathers. We did not deserve the 16 points. As for the north stand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Time for a shake up in the forwards - James, Walshaw, Trout, Mariano, Ellis time to stake a claim - tackle & run hard all match & you will get that starting spot.

1.Which forwards need to move over that is the question?
2. What do the stats say? Who is dropping off tackles and not making the yardage?
3. Have we got too many forwards carrying knocks/injuries to suddenly go completely off the boil & let teams roll us back up onto our own try line too easily?

Wigan 2nd team will be rubbing their hands for Monday and Leeds will walk not run over us next Friday!

This is a real challenge to R.A.'s coaching ability and time for him to make some tough coaching decisions otherwise it will not be a 1 year stay with WTW never mind a 3 year one!

Smith needs dropping for wood. He has no imagination. All he does is pass. Doesn't run it or look to do anything but pass it straight away. And that off offload to Aiton from Trout. Aiton needs to be awake for stuff like that.

On paper I thought we were a better team in terms of 'ability' than last years squad but something has gone wrong big time in the last 2 games. Only those inside the changing room can say what.

Agar has not got the response that he & WTW needed and now he has a real problem - turning the team completely around & taking on (and competing at least with) two of the best teams in SL one of which are the World Club champions.

Agar needs to focus on the pack because with no go forward or hard hitting shuddering consistent tackles of the opposition pack the rest of the game plan falls by the wayside as its hurried off the back foot stuff.

If he fails over the next 6 games & these lifeless performances continue then he must go & bring in Powell from Featherstone otherwise WTW will go backwards & lose the impetus it has gained over the last 6 months.

Cas have spent alot less than WTW haven't they although they have a SL coach who has won something?

Smith has the potential to be a good signing but our forwards are always on the back foot so he has little space to work although getting caught in your own half on the last is ludicrous.John on the other hand is looking gash and was completely anonymous tonight signing him for 3 years was just madness cos he looks like he has nothing to offer.

Against Catalan didn't John create 2 tries for Cockayne? Need to keep faith in the backs.

WTW need to focus on the pack big time. Rugby League is a game where if your forwards don't dominate or compete closely then you lose. We're getting hammered up front & rolled down the pitch and R.A. has acknowledged this. The Catalan game seems to have 'burned out' some of the forwards??

The concerning thing is if the replacement forwards are no better (James,Eliis,Mariano etc) then its going to be a long painful season & we'll be rooted to the bottom of the table this season instead of second bottom.
There was talk of needing a prop but just one player wouldn't change this around.

Totally correct. Our problems are totally about the forwards in my view. 1 to 7 cannot perform or be judged when they are playing behind a powder puff pack without a prop in the squad. This problem was there last season and is worse now minus Korki. Idiotic recruitment strategy in my view. Lautiti was a good headline but I would wager he is costing us the 2 hard props we need

we have no front row to speak of really. team full of second rowers. could have done with korki and dowes. at least korki wanted to play for the shirt. we seem to lack desire and aggression. if these boys can't get up for the watene trophy and the cas derby then what can enthuse them?

Smith has no passing quality whatsoever and his long passing game is a disgrace. I'd prefer Lee, BJ and G. Moore over Smithy as it currently stands.

IMO the team would be fine, yes we need a bit of beef but its not a player problem, its a coaching problem or lack of it.

Elston got told time and time again that we don't want Agar and we still got him, go figure that one out.

And before anybody says could i do better, well i could not do any worse.

You could if you have motivational skills. I personally think it would be good to have a stab at a local lad with coaching experience at several levels who could bring fire and passion. Jowitt, Marchy or Longstaff for example.

FWIW I'm confident we have the raw product of an international here.

What we have to do is support his transition & development at every stage.

With Tony Kemp's recommendation to add to that of Henry Paul, Monty Betham & Hull FC that's quite a good list of referee's to call in. I wish I had similar people in my field to call in on my CV!!!

If any WT fan's haven't already check out the games on the NSW cup site (too lazy to post a link!- it's Saturday!) I'd advise in doing so!
IJ plays a good creative game, albeit in the #13 role & has a decent kicking game with ball in hand- something we lacked since Broughy left! He'll blossom at #6 IMO.

From the info the club has posted out/ what Isaac has posted on twitter; his transition seems to be seamless. His visa was relatively quick, he was impressed with pictures of his house & was greeted at the airport by the clubs most senior staff. Even the most "down to earth" WTW fan must see this is a world away from where we were 2 years ago. Take Shane Tronc (my favourite #8 EVER!) and how he was treated by TR et al. Sickening to say the least!

"The Glover approach" seems to be doing the business & I'm confident, that with our rapidly recuperating reputation & long established history, we'll be a big draw from player & sponsors in years to come.

As far as IJ goes (and I'm willing to be quoted on this at a later date!!): In 18 months we'll be worrying if we can get him to sign an extension to keep the vultures (giants) away, this lad has the potential to be as good as Henry Paul IMO.
