| What to say after that? I have read the comments in the other threads and its hard to disagree with most of the individual player or coaching comments, though I would disagree with some.
I think we need to stand back and take a big, deep breath.
10 weeks ago we had "the best club in the world, a great coach and the strongest squad in years". we all mostly said. First injuries decimated a squad not as deep as the ones with the big money. A few have drifted back and the addition of Tanginoa has helped us keep paddling as we drown.
To me, the biggest problem is the lack of power and line speed of the pack. Without a fully functioning Fifita and the use of Pauli Pauli when we are ascendant, we are very ineffectual. King is decent enough. Even at our best we lacked real forward punch minus Fifita.
Then Brough....He is just too late for us as a player. He is Championship now ....he is just not quite there anymore. Yes, there's still some great passes and kicks some of the time but there's some dreadful stuff that is dragging us right down and he was very much a part of the first 12 points tonight. Dropped off tackles like he just couldn't get there or couldn't be bothered to.
Sadly, as a man I really like and think is not a bad coach...Chris Chester is a problem. Tonight, team selection. I didn't like it at all. But after 12-0 it was glaringly obvious it was horrendously not working. Too light in the pack, Hampshire hopelessly exposed as not a winger and Arundel contributing to a fish out of water appearance. Brough all over the place for the 3rd game in a row (yes he had better moments v Cas but was still inadequate mostly). Chester on TV..frowning and looking desperate. I am sure we all have our opinions but I thought, move Hampshire to 7. Take Brough off. Put Arundel on the wing. Bring Fifita on and Annakin at the same time and show some f ing intent!Chester sat there, frankly, like he did as Hull HR coach v Leeds in the challenge cup final... and froze. Then went ape in the changing room at half time by the looks of the sky coverage. I'm afraid this 'losing the dressing room ; thing confuses me but maybe if the team don't get the plan, maybe this is the result. What to do? If you sack Chester now, who takes over? I can only think of one man who could change this slide right now. John Kear. I sit back and await the outburst

Still not forgiven him for that, but yes he has a tendency to do sweet f all when the going gets tough. Sits there mid game or stands at the interview after with that incredibly annoying smarmy expression whatever goes on.

| Poor Chester looked like he was going to dead set cry every time he was shown on camera , that proves to me he cares but the players are not playing for him anymore and he needs to go to save our super league satus- with the week off now - tomorrow would be the perfect time give the new coach a week or so with out the pressure of playing
ps brough needs to do the right thing and retire and take miller with him ,Hampshire with him and BJB and the rest of the forward pack who are offering nothing

Yes. I don't pretend to have all the answers. Fair point. About the only solace I could take was the fact we won the 2nd half and obviously there is something we might be able to work with. I am seriously concerned about Chris. He actually looked close to tears in the post match interview. Either that or he's knackered. This is not good psychological karma. I pray they can turn that 2nd half victory into a win. Soon. And before we have to sack Chris, because I don't want to

| I have not witnessed us playing so consistently bad since Webster was in charge and to be fair to him the squad he had to operate with was a lower standard because we were looking to save money. I do not know how we get out of this but something needs to change because the rut is getting deeper.

I know that you are usually the voice of reason PT but, I think that now is a time for honesty.
Chester, for all of the great work that he's done since he joined Trinity, is now in the same position as Tony Smith (Casper) of a few seasons ago.
Unfortunately, he is no longer the man who can steer us away from relegation and he, along with the rest of us, is just desperately hoping that, Huddersfield, Leeds KR and London dont win anymore games.
Unfortunately, I think that right now, Trinity vs London at BV on 15th September will be a genuine MPG
Leeds, have shuffled the pack and look to be improving
KR, even with the loss of Parcel, look organised and fighting for everything
London, on a shoestring budget and having beaten us twice, may only need one more win, plus, beating us on the last day of the season to secure their top flight status.
Huddersfield any win form their last 7 games and with KR, Leeds and Salford to come, plus Catalan for their last game, when the French side will be "on the beech", will surely win one or two more games.
Lets face it, Trinity look like they wont win another game and its just a question of whether those below us in the table can scrape enough points to overtake us and unfortunately, I think that they will.
When Smith lost his way a few years ago, Kear rescued us in dramatic fashion but now, I dont see a new miracle coach either wanting the challenge or being asked to help.
The first 40 minutes tonight was frightening.
We were against a severely depleted Wigan side, without anything close to their first choice pack and yet, we kept our more potent forwards on the bench until after the game was lost.
Yes, the bounce of the ball went against us but, our defence was bloody pitiful.
Chester desperately needs some help or, needs to be replaced and quickly. The guy looks broken.

| Chesters interview reminded me of a bit of Websters after we lost to Leigh in the cup. He parted company after that game, will we see the same again? Has Carter got the balls to get rid of his mate if he doesn’t resign?

I get what you are saying but I still see something in Chester. I think some are blinded by the results but I think the interview with Fifita and the players response second half shows they are in it together.
I don't see Chester and Smith as the same because Smith could never do it. Chester has shown great success with the team and developing players.
The difference is for me that I want to see us battle it out rather than throw the towel in. It's not like we are going to get a top Aussie coach in to rescue us and to be honest they don't do well at the lower clubs anyway.
Like has been said, Chester is clearly upset which shows he really wants it. I want to give him chance.

Chester without experienced help is imo out of his depth. If he is to continue then an experienced assistant needs to be appointed sharpish. Oh and Brough and BJB need dropping

Did they lift or did Wigan step off the gas ? I’d say In my honest opinion the latter and you see it all the time in games .We went in at half time at Cas in with a shout and imploded second half .Chester has had 10 games to sort these embarrassments of players out and has failed miserably, needs to fall on his sword ASAP to give us a fighting chance to rescue our once proud club .

| Wigan stepped off the gas. I went in the hope of seeing a better effort from the team but most of the time they don’t even look like a team. I get they must be down in confidence after this appalling run but some of the attempts at tackling were embarrassing last night. It’s as though the injury crisis has taken the fight out of them as early in the season we could come back. Surely the motivation should be there as they are staring down the barrel of losing their job at the end of the season. How Pauli Pauli is picked every week is beyond me. I’d be happy not to see him in a Wakey shirt again. Hopefully the two weeks off will give the players chance to regroup.

| I've just read on twitter somebody saying that MC refused to accept Chester's resignation. Not sure how true it is, but one thing is for sure (as others have said) something has to give. One thing is for sure, if we do go down the money in championship won't pay the council loan for Belle Vue back.

| I'm puzzled by CC's team selection at times but I feel for the bloke. He doesn't go from being a good coach to a bad coach in a matter of weeks! The players have let him (and us) down.
He can coach all he wants, but his coaching ends when the players run on the pitch. If some of them can't be bothered, then we're doomed from the start.
If it's not that, then the team needs changing. Hampshire and/or Wood to the halves for a start.
As far as the forwards go then we're struggling. No Huby, England not what he was, Arona out for season, Ashurst out for season, Pauli disappoints. The only true SL quality props we have are Fifita and Kopczak.
It really is a crocked tream from the one we had such aspirations for!
