Thought we were on the end of some tough calls but that's the way it goes.

Thought the penalties in that 1st half was really the only difference between two poor sides. 2nd half was ours and the penalty from Annakin followed by his miss on Hansen let Salford off the hook. Game changing moment for me.

I thought he was really poor. Until players appealed he wasn't doing anything and then jumped to a guess.
Pulling us back when he were clear after their knock on cost us.

Mostly though not picking their off sides an holding down cost us most.

There certainly appeared to be two different sets of rules being applied.

How he didnt give us a penalty near our own line when riley was trying to get up to play the ball and sau was all over his back and pullled him back down I wi never know.

He also seemed desperate to find one of his officials who could give him a reason to disallow tge try in the left corner

Plenty of spoiling tactics being applied by Salford today specifically slowing down play of the ball, Sau trying to milk a penalty on several occasions too. Salford were there for the taking however we just wern't good enough still, atleast the scoreline was a little closer this week.

Worst bit was he finally gave them a warning so that he didn't penalise them again until 5 mins to go!!!! He really is shocking!!! Pita and Jacob took two hits to the head and he did nothing!!!

Absolutely disgusting display of refereeing today, I'm quite sure every penalty he gave against us would have been the correct decision, it's not a case of what he gave them, but what he did not give us, I'm not going to list them because I simply can't be @rsed anymore and those that went saw what I saw, and what he let them get away with was nothing short of criminal, fwiw a display like that in football would have seen him down graded for next week.

I thought this was going to be another ref bashing thread, but by the sound of it even the new coach wasn’t too impressed.

So either Hicks didn’t get a grip or Mr Smith has jumped on the whinging bandwagon.

Hicks was rubbish.

The offsides were a joke and Salford were bossing him. The worst reffing display I have seen this year but when I saw he was in charge and Childs on the touch line I didn't expect anything.

He was a factor in todays loss - but to blame him alone would be foolish. However it's equally as foolish to deny it, which is a speciality of yours.

Can I ask why you actually bother with Trinity? Your idea of supporting the team and club seems a million miles from everyone else - I think you're loving this season I really do.

He seemed to not want to make any calls until he got "a word" in his ear piece.

I'm not denying anything, Hicks got things wrong for us, but also Salford. I'm more bothered about our own performances rather than blaming the referees for our blunders (although it is concerning we've had the "junior" refs for most of the season).

Why I bother with Trinity? So I offer opinions different to yours and because of that I shouldn't bother.

As for loving this season you couldn't be more wrong - I can't wait for the end so we can get rid of the deadwood and start again.

far from jumping on the band wagon, if its not bad enough trying to repair a poor knit side we have to put up with days like that from an official, its no wonder the crowds are leaving and not coming back, what's the point in watching if we know we have no chance in the beginning

Paterson got away with so much it was untrue. Sly niggly hits, and so much lying on and holding down. Can't put all the blame on Hicks though, our downfall was a lack of smart play in the first half. If we'd played the 1st half like we layed the 2nd we would have won that game.

Never known a crowd whinge at a referee as much in my life. It was becoming embarrassing at times, particularly as Hicks was consistent (whether good or bad) for both teams. There were plenty of poor calls which went against Salford too, the worst one was the blatant two-man ball strip on Theo Fages only for Hicks to give it a knock on. Wakefield were also off-side plenty and were rightly penalised. Also, how many times did Godinet dummy the play of the ball in order to milk a penalty for off-side?

You cant blame the referee for yesterdays result.

No you were clearly offside most of the time.

I think you will find we have never been offside ever and are honest as the day is long.

What about Godinet being pulled for offside from his own kick or Hicks ignoring 3 or 4 high shots even when he was looking directly at the play.
But, the worst call was Wakefield being pulled back for a scrum (with Wakefield feed) when Godinet had gone clear with support.

Of course Wakefield lost the game because they weren't smart enough in possession.
