Just wonder what kind of reception your gonna give our in form obst... Brilliant servant for your club, is he gonna get standing applause or are the judas chants gonna be ringing out at the KC tomorrow?

From me he will gat applause and i would imagine it will be the same from the rest of the Wakey fans.

I'm really not sure. In my mind he left us during our darkest hour .... but, he gave us some good service.

I do know I wont enjoy seeing him in a Hull FC shirt.

Polite applause and nothing more. I cringe when former players get the hero worship chants while those still in the shirts get abuse.

From what I know he didn't leave he was shipped out by Mr O'hara. Not saying he was unhappy with his new club but he certainly didn't have much choice. As an older player with a wife etc he couldn't be expected to give us the same loyalty as Smurph IMHO.

I think if administration hadn't have come, he wouldn't have gone. You react differently when your bosses have got no money whatsoever and your future is unknown.

Agree - I think Sam will get a good round of applause from us. He didnt want to leave but the administrators chose to let him go. Sam was more than happy at BV and like previous post - if given the choice he would have stayed.......

however.......

Same from me. He gave us his all while here. That deserves respect IMO

Each to their own, regardless of how he left his conduct during his time at the club deserves nothing short of respect. He might get a few pantomime boo's, but mostly he will get a round of applause with some chants. I wouldn't begrudge him that.

I don't begrudge Sam going to another club during a very uncertain period. I'd have done the same to safeguard my future. I don't believe for a second either that the decision was 100% his own.

From what I recall he made a statment shortly afterwards stating it all happened so fast and at the end of the day you have to look after yourself really.

Thats true and I dont begrudge him. Whatever the reasons for leaving he was a good player for Trin who always gave 100% every time I saw him and often was the strongest tackler on the park and stopped opposition better tahn our forwards sometimes.

I too wont like seeing him in a Hull shirt but will applaud him for his time at Trin. Anything else lacks class IMO

He doesn't seem like the kind of player to celebrate elaborately if he scored against us either.

In the end, like some of you have said, your club was in a very uncertain place and he had to safeguard his future for himself and his family. I'd also say that the administrators would have been more than happy to ship out a player for a little bit of dosh. I'd hope that he doesn't get any boos.

Depends how well he plays.

i'd always applaud sam. the guy earned it many times over. saw some dark days at wakefield but always gave a hundred and fifty percent. great player and a really good guy. was shipped out by the administrator for next to nothing to cover their costs imobut i would imagine he will always get a warm welcome in wakefield.

You'll be well aware of Sam helping younger players after the loss of Adam and Leon and added to that he ALWAYS bust a gut for us, i'll stand on broken glass and applaud Sam mate.

May be classed as a second rate Aussie but he's not second rate with anything else.

Sam is Wakey through and through - he'll throw the match for us.

Porr Sam, Wakey through & through, always happy to help with anything, as one of our top players he was shipped on by the administartor, no choice, he appears also to have been married without his knowledge

Obst is a good player,was a good waky player so wont get any stick at all i guess.

Most fans realise that players come and go for whatever reasons and to shout abuse or boo them just gees them up,mind you hull fc fans dont realise anything !!!

anyone booing sam is no fan of our club in my opinion, his efforts during the adam and leon period were above and beyond the call of duty, always remeber him in wakey precinct in the snow collecting cash and selling that dodgy calendar, always polite to the fans and more or less bought costa coffee, top man and glad hes doing well, couple of early knock ons wouldnt go amiss tho sam!

sam did'nt asked to leave so why should he get a bad reception , hope you have a great season sam but not tomorrow
