| Well I can’t say I’m any happier 3 days on, that performance for me was the most unforgivable in the 30 years of supporting. Worse than London away, worse than anything I’ve seen and I’ve seen some horrendous efforts.
What gets me more than anything is I think that Cas team expected to lose. They were there for the taking and this lot couldn’t see it and if they did even worse they couldn’t do it.
Utterly unforgivable and it will take a long time for a lot of fans to forgive, some never will - we lost potential fans and existing fans on Thursday.
Still life moves on and although we will get hammered today, be honest this team generally lacks the guts of nearly all previous teams, even a 100 - 0 won’t feel as bad as against Cas.
I don’t think it will be 100 - 0 though I wouldn’t bet on it but it won’t be a win.
Whatever the result let’s hope we at least see some improvement and we rebuild from there.
I’ve never had a tantrum like this one before, normally 24 hours and I’m over it. No way would I give up, I bought a ST and the club is welcome to it no issue there. But at present I’m not convinced I want to watch them again. I don’t think I have it in me to shout them on and I don’t want to be a terrace moaner.
Think I might give it a rest for the next few weeks and that includes the forum which will please some I’m sure.
Will watch the Academy still, if this club has a future that is where it lays.
See you all in a month or so and finally good luck to those first teamers who still care, you’ve got your work cut out.

| This happens every time we lose to Cas. Big uproar on the forum cos it means so much to people.
For me I'm disappointed but it doesn't mean they are all gutless. It's one game that will be forgotten if we get some other wins and/or beat Cas away.
Move on is my call.

To coin the 80's hit, the only way is up !
Yes, it was awful, yes, we were favourites (although only just) and yes it was Cas (again).
We have to move on, starting today. However, anything like a close result v Wigan on their own patch would be one hell of a return.
We go there with a weakened side, partly through injuries and partly through selection and it appears that we have written this one off, hoping that
we have some fresh bodies for KR away and Huddersfield at home, neither of which is an easy game.
It's one that cant be easily forgotten but, time to move on.

| To be honest, I wouldn't completely rule out us beating Wigan today, it's just like us to come away with 2 points from a game that we believe we have no chance of winning.

If you really can't let it go, perhaps you should watch Frozen instead? I half expected it, not quite in that manner, and for us to be so bad, but that's my mentality of watching us since the mid '80's as a kid. Just lower all expectations then the disappointments are more bearable. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if we did pull it off this afternoon.......then again if we lost 44-6 then that wouldn't really surprise me either! Maybe we were spoilt the way we played at Wire, maybe because we have generally been so poor the last couple of seasons, maybe those performances weren't that great anyway in reality, who knows?! I think it's quite difficult so far to work out where we are in terms of progress under Willie, don't get me wrong, we were bad, but it's nothing new is it?! Just keep the faith, i'm sure there are some good wins still left to celebrate come the end of the season.....

I love an optimist! I'm more of a realist and foresee a good hiding I'm afraid! - but I'll be the first to eat my words if the unforeseeable occurs. 40-8 to Wigan I reckon.

Can not make it today but hopefully will be going to HKR not expecting to win today or Saturday but going because we are playing better football .If you think how much ball Cas had in first half through how many penalty we have away we did ok first half .Think this is the problem at present .At the beginning of the season's our penalty count and mistakes were less than they are at present .Shows how discipline is so important sorry to say it is some thing we lack at present Vastman do not give up watching first team you are like me Wakefield though and though

| As a Wakey fan obviously over the years we’ve lost more than what we have won so that’s a given, it’s never been about the loss, just the manner in which we lose. Against Wigan the game got away from us but the effort was 100% there, couldn’t ask for much more. Against Cas, the Mcshane try summarised the performance for me. If we go to Wigan and give a good account of ourselves and build some confidence in both attack and defence then great. Genuinely wouldn’t suprise me if we did win. It’s Wakey after all.

| The culture the club has to change going forwards that’s plain for all to see if we are ever to compete regularly with the supposed big boys ,and I’m hoping Poaching is the instigator of this shift . We’ve only to look a few miles up the M1 to see how easy it is for a club to fall from grace ( much to the amusement of all and sundry) may I add . We’ve always been if the mindset that both on and off the field that we are some kind of anomaly ,in that we can give the top teams a thumping but just as easily get thumped by the perceived bottom clubs ,we can’t seem to hold that middle ground for very long. The Harry Houdini’s of super league if you want ,always courting disaster and one game or so away from the unthinkable. How this changes on the field I’m hoping poaching and the team can instil pride and passion ,which does raise its head on occasions back into the players this season with a mid table finish .Off field looks to be running a lot smoother than on field at present , but my worry is we’re going to eventually have a stadium fit for purpose with a team that isn’t . I’m hoping this is just a blip along with the dozens of other blips we’ve had along the years and get back on the horse today ,and if not a win at least put some effort in and pride back into the club .

| After a game against Cas, I usually feel disappointed or embarrassed, but this time I actually felt angry. We had been playing better than them and I truly felt we could end the hoodoo. Then they just didn't turn up and compete. It was difficult to take. The anger is subsiding but not completely gone. Today is a free hit in that we are expected to lose convincingly, so there is no pressure.
On a more positive note, WP has a win record as head coach of over 50% so far (8/15, 9/16 including cup games) which is definitely decent for a club with such a small budget. It's a long season, there will be more ups and downs, but that's sport.

Wasn’t going to post again so sorry immediate apology but just couldn’t let this one go.
I know you’re being positive but PT that is one naff statement that so misses the target.
Of course this always happens when we lose to Cas because we always do and the performances continually get worse and worse until Thursday was the RL version of Fawlty Towers.

What I mean by 'it always happens' is that we have threads that say all our recruitment is rubbish, the club is going backwards, the team are gutless, and loads of big ranting threads.
I'm not saying the feeling isn't real, but the team that played at Warrington haven't suddenly changed time and made everything rubbish for years.
We have good players that aren't playing well right now. Doesn't mean they won't.
It's not just aimed at you. You feel how you feel.
There'll be better days this year and I am looking forward to them. It won't be today. It might be next Saturday. Might not.

| Am starting to feel like Rhett butler ‘Frankly my dear I couldn’t give a damn’
122 points shipped in 3 games, glad I didn’t waste my money going, was in Spain but I actually turned the radio off at 24 -4
We’ve lost to Leeds (the only team so far to achieve that ) been annihilated by a distinctively average Cas side. Looks like we are back in free fall again.
For me on the field the fundamental problem we have is the inability to look after the ball, repeated 6 agains, inability to complete sets needless penalties and of course the collander style defence.
The only good news we have on the pitch is that Toulouse are awful and provide we get a win there we will be in Sl next year.
For me we too many of our players have been injured and perhaps we have been unlucky in that regard however Tom Johnson sadly is Mr Biscuit, bill tupo was probably never likely to make a meaningful contribution this season given our desire to sign Langi. Minns was a player we signed for a bit of cover but then succumbed to our injury curse, lineham unlucky, our lack of a quality overseas signing has hurt us hard , Whitbread is ok but hardly the barnstorming prop that we needed. What is surprising is given our pack is made up of hardworking professionals how poor our defence has been and how many unforced errors we have given away
Question is without funds new players etc what’s going to change

Animosity aside.
That’s what’s soo peed me off, Cas turned up on Thursday fearing they would be turned over. They simply couldn’t believe their luck. You could visibly see them gain in confidence and by the end having a right old laugh.
I can’t think of many Trinity teams in the last 30 years who wouldn’t have stepped up and turned Cas over. Worse some of the players on show were once part of one of those teams. Where Cas are concerned we’ve hit a new low.

Tom Johnstone comment is pathetic. He may have had a lot of very genuine injuries but in the games he’s played he’s been a total match winner. Without him we wonder be in SL,. What non entity do you think we should replace him with? get a grip, quality over quantity.

| I've had major worries about the pack since day dot and I said this even after the Warrington wins. Our pack has not got on top of a game all season and it's there to see in the stats. That's with ball and without ball. The reason we concede so many six agains is because we can't manage the ruck as well as other teams and our pack are really poor out of yardage and generally making metres. Even at warrington our edge defence was pretty good but at times in the first half of both games our middle defence was awful... we somehow sorted itout enough to get wins. Even the Warrington forwards who are getting slated by their fans were marching us 60 metres down field every set. It was the same against Castleford and Salford. The only forty the pack have turned up was the first half against Wigan in the challenge cup. For some reason or another they managed to actually put a performance in and we had a lot of field position and really took it to Wigan without the ball. We can't just rely on Fifita. Some of them need to step up as it is embarrassing. I almost feel harsh pointing the finger at some of them as half the people we play prop aren't even props by nature. Only ourselves to blame recruitment wise. This is a problem that we've had for seasons not just this season.

| The prop debate is an interesting one!
I go back to when Chris Chester first took over..we initially did pretty well then Hull came to Belle Vue with their big strong pack and absolutely steamrolled us and CC went on record saying we were bullied in the forwards.
Slowly and gradually he built a formidable pack (in size)…the likes of Fifita, Pauli, Huby, England, Hirst…we had some good times and the ‘bullying’ of our pack suddenly stopped.
Then….all through the covid times and the rule changes which sped the game up it all of a sudden looked like going with such a big pack wasn’t the best of ideas and teams were looking more at more mobile props able to play more minutes….this is the road we went down.
I still don’t think our pack is the worst…when all are fully fit and firing we’re capable of matching the best and that’s built on quick play the balls and plenty of offloads. Against Cas we did neither of those from minute 1 to 80!
Having a big pack doesn’t automatically make you a better team…I look at Hull and some of the big men they have earning big money and they’re still inconsistent and under performing in my eyes.
The sooner Fifita is back in the better though as he’s not just a very good prop, he seems to lift the others to a higher level too. What’s his issue anyway? In the squad 3 consecutive games…led to believe he’s touch and go…chip shop rumours of him definitely playing then not even in the squad for today?

| Until we can somehow get real investment we will be perpetual bottom dwellers, with the odd decent season. Toulouse apart, in the SL era we are the only team to not feature in a major final, which I think speaks volumes. As one of the largest population cities in SL, our attendances are bang average, and rightly so. Who are we going to attract new to watch them play garbage RL consistently. Our recruitment has hardly wetted the appetite for a number of seasons, but we will be at the bottom of the pecking order financially, so hardly surprising we have who we have. It’s a depressing feeling knowing the only consistent thing about Wakefield Trinity is that we will be a bottom 2/3 side until said investment happens.

Sadly I have to agree.
Some of our players are simply not SL standard.
The younger end not included because they have yet to learn.
Take Fifita from our pack and the remainder frighten no other team in SL.
Add to that, when they play without heart the floodgates open.
I take no pleasure from saying that.

Hilarious coming from the poster that has spat his dummy out saying he doesn’t want to watch trinity any more because we lost a match

Think I might give it a rest for the next few weeks and that includes the forum which will please some I’m sure.
See you all in a month or so and finally good luck to those first teamers who still care, you’ve got your work cut out.'"

Hmm did I say Johnson wasn’t good ? As usual putting your words in other peoples mouthes you pulsinanimous pustule. I merely made a statement of fact - he doesn’t play very often and is injured more than he plays. Most of the other posters recognise that we have a decent first team squad when everyone plays - sadly some of our top paid stars miss more than they play and that is a massive problem for the club.
Anyway pleased to here you aren’t going to post for a while no one will miss you
