Quote ="The Avenger"What you’ve got to recognise is that the majority of the young lads that have made the Super League squad over the last few years weren’t identified and signed by Mark Applegarth but by his predecessor Richard Kelly.
Batchelor
Aydin
Hall
Bowes
Butterworth
Kershaw
Croft
Shaw
Windrow
Abraham
Schoffield
and I’m sure I’ve missed some, we’re all signed by Kelly.
Now maybe I’m wrong but Applegarth wouldn’t be the first coach who judged another coaches players more harshly than other players.
That doesn’t explain the absence of Eseh but Bowes has certainly been hard done by IMO and why hasn’t Windrow been given a chance. Then there’s the almost eager acceptance to let such as Aydin, Hall, Croft, shaw and Batchelor leave when they’re better than what’s been retained and recruited as replacements.'"
Not to mention thet they were "our" players so, no additional loan fees to pay.
The whole idea of 2 week loans seems utterly crazy. All we are doing is helping other teams' get their players match fit and sending a message to our own youngsters that they are not good enough.
I have to say that, personally, I'm on the brink.
Close to 40 years watching Trin and supporting them home and away, plut the lottery etc but we have swapped crumbling stands for a crumbling side.
We're in our 150th year but, we're keeping it a secret.
Saints have the same anniversary included on their shirts this season.
As a super leagues side, we have simply given up and there seems little thought to the future (or the present ) as a team.
