I sit here nervously as I await delivery, already two days late, but assuming they arrive the Trinity Times will be on sale on Sunday to support Reece Lyne's Testimonial.

The test version of the Trinity Times will (hopefully) be on sale at the ground for the Reece Lyne Testimonial match this weekend.

There will only be 150 copies available as this is just a trial, however all the money goes to the Reece Lyne Testimonial Fund.

It’s an A4 publication of 8 pages, newspaper style, so not stapled.

It will in future carry the following (the test version will not have some of these features, as games etc are yet to be played)

1: An A3 size full colour poster of that editions featured players, comes with a handy signing area for those who may want an autograph.
It will of course be Reece on this one.

2: A full biography of the featured player, courtesy of Trinity Heritage Lee Robinson.

3: ‘The bloke from the chippy said...’
light heated gossip and funnies (hopefully)

4: Match reports from the previous week, not just first team but hopefully also the harder to get info on the Reserves/U18/Scholarship U16’s/College/Ladies/PDR/LDRL when available.

5: Feature on the opposition.

6: An old style Team sheet that allows you to tick who played should you wish to.

7: A message from the BOD or the Coaching staff, unique to the publication and not available on social media.

8: News from the RW&B Army. TBC

POSSIBLE BUT TBC: A coupon style insert offering money off selected merchandise, ticket offers etc, but I must point out this has not yet been agreed and may not happen, so no guarantee on this one.

NO ADS! ONLY A POUND, 50P STRAIGHT TO THE CLUBS AND STRAIGHT TOWARDS TEAM BUILDING.

There are a few typos on the test issue, but as this is just a test and we had a lot to sort and little time, please forgive us on this occasion.

To make this work even better we could also do with some help. We’ve got a printer/designer and sellers on match day. However what we don’t have is people who can report on College/PDRL/LDRL games in particular. All we need is the following. Opposition, date played, Trinity line up, final score and try scorers.

Although the club will provide basic info on the Reserves/U18’s/U16’s, anyone who fancies writing a report, that would be great. No more than a 100 - 200 words. Not essential but would be nice.

The Reece brochure clearly wasn’t the issue, although TBF I’d not taken that on board. You’re bound to be selling a testimonial brochure at such a game so can’t complain on that one. In retrospect possibly the wrong friendly.

More the Mighty Trin, far more similar publication.

Three similar items on sale on sale at one go is a lot.

As I say it wasn’t deliberate and no point sulking just unfortunate when your aim is to try and work out a suitable print run.

Yeah, the size unfortunately is crucial from a cost perspective. To get the same info in a more traditional A5 format would take it to 16 pages and that would require stapling and at the quantities we are selling at that would make it well over a pound to get a return. It would effectively become the old programme that became uneconomical a few years back.

Also you'd lose the poster, or at least a poster of any worthwhile size, a major selling point imo.

It's a compromise but we are hoping at the price it is it will sell in reasonable quantity and thus make a decent return.

However things are fluid and I see no reason why at the end of the season we couldn't do a collectors special digest version at A5 size on higher grade paper to sell online. All 14 editions for say £14.99. Be a great stocking filler that you could definitely keep pristine and I'm sure we could throw in some extra end of season extras, especially if its a good season.

I have posted something on the RWBA Group but I'll post an update here as well as it's part of the conversation.

We sold 125 copies (out of the print run of 150) which isn't bad considering the other things that were on sale yesterday and we only sold within the ground. The ideal plan would be to have volunteers outside the turnstiles but the volunteers that helped yesterday (including myself) were all in a Hospitality Box and that was open from 12:30pm. The Western Terrace also seemed quite empty at around 1:15pm (when I planned on sending people out) and everyone seemed to arrive really late on and close to kick off.

The remaining 25 copies are in the club shop today so if anyone is in and didn't get one then that's where you can pick one up from. This will give us an indication of how shop sales can be with this production as Daz seemed confident they would fly out at £1 a copy.

Also like to point out that obviously as a pre-season edition there wasn't much to report. As the season goes on the amount of good quality info will increase dramatically.

Couldn’t find a TT seller on Sunday, so I called at the shop this morning, there was about 5 left on the counter, if someone wants one, you need to get there soon.
