I like Pitts, he’s a well travelled and experienced player who could make a good captain but his place in the team hasn’t been assured so far. That said, many team captains get substituted or spelled during a game, some don’t start games, so it doesn’t present a problem re Tanginoa or Bachelor playing off the bench or even starting.
Personally, I’d have given the job to Ashurst who, injury permitting, a much more permanent fixture in the team, has been at the club for longer and is well respected by players and fans alike.
Second Rowers don’t necessarily play the full 80 minutes, there’s loads of examples of teams naming a third Back Rower on the bench. Murdoch-Massilla has often started from the bench for the teams he’s played for and he’s not too dissimilar to Tanginoa.
Any player can play prop!
Just because Tanginoa is more physical it doesn’t mean he’s suited for the prop forward role and will do well in the position. Playing him there also negates much of his impact as a player. He’s a wide running, tackle busting, line breaker perhaps the only one we’ve got! Sticking him in the front row so he can cart the ball up through the middle channel is a waste of his abilities.

It's gone down well on the Trinity Facebook page with many compliments.
Do you think Ashurst is vocal enough to be Captain? or I wonder if he would even want it.
I would say the majority of second rowers play 80 minutes. BMM is different and does do it in stints. It's difficult with interchanges to use props, hookers and SR into the limited amount teams have. An 80 minute prop wouldn't go a miss though!!
