I thought it was Wollo?
I've read everyone's views on this thread and my opinion is unchanged. If English had a beef with the Wakefield club about not being taken on (conjecture) then why not direct his frustration at the club officials rather than the innocent fans?
I saw no evidence of fans giving him abuse up until that point in the game so have no understanding why he directed his gestures to the fans. There was no previous history since he was new to his career.
I think his behaviour was unprofessional, arrogant and unbecoming of what could be a model professional. There is celebrating and there is petulant behaviour, his acts were not "celebrating".
Must admit that I few years earlier a developed a dislike of Tommy Lee when he was at Huddersfield and made a shush (finger to lips gesture) after scoring against us. This was the year after he left us. I know he got some stuck from some of our fans whilst he was with us, but it was not all of us. I certainly never directed any criticism at him, I even remember congratulating him face to face after a match. I'm taking it too personally I know but his gesture was to all our fans when not all our fans gave him a hard time. But hey, that's the way the cookie crumbles.
I'm just a delicate snowflake though and expect professional behaviour from professionals. Celebrate by all means but don't antagonise or incite.
Back on topic. Massive weekend this one, Rovers have a potential winnable match which could make things a little anxious for us and we don't know what Leeds team will turn up, although they are looking a lot better now.
Am very encouraged after our performance against Rovers, but think Wigan may just edge us out. Warrington could be interesting though, I have a sneaky feeling we could turn them over, even away from home.
