Quote ="Slugger McBatt"I'm not sure that's right. What will be on his radar, if he has it switched on, is that JD is an NRL assistant coach who has worked with the best, succeeded as head coach at the tier below, and is fast becoming the name people mention when a new Super League coach is mentioned. Knowing that JD understands the club makes him higher up the list. The last thing you should do is appoint someone because they were once a Wakey player.
I think he'll stick with CC for now, as he's earned one bad season.
The main sticking point would be JD even if it were up for grabs. It would do his head coach credentials no good at all. No NRL club is going to rush to appoint him on the basis that he was able to get Wakey to fifth spot a couple of years on the trot, which for us would be a good return. He'd do better earning his stripes in Aus.
If I were advising JD, it'd be the Leeds job I'd want (although I suspect that will go to Danny Ward).'"
That's true but it's a separate issue as it could apply to a number of coaches over there. What I'm saying is that there is no emotional link, there is with the fans but I doubt there is with the current BOD. I think its a perfect fit but I started watching in 2004 so I would.
