On yesterdays Rugby AM TV programme it was mentioned that Wakefield is the only Super league club that has stayed within the salary cap. Does that mean that some or all of the other clubs will be docked points next season,or will they all be let off.

Yes ,we didn't overspend but all the other clubs did.

No it meant we are the only club to be spending under the cap, apparently the rest are at full cap but personally i think Widnes are also quite a way under.

There are lots of ways clubs can legitimately spend over the £1.825m cap without breaking any rules. Clubs have marquee players, homegrown player allowances, and the ability to ask the RFL nicely to be able to spend over this limit.

Without knowing the details, I assume the intention of the statement is saying that Wakefield are the only club not to exploit these rules to spend over.

That doesn't mean the clubs are breaking the salary cap, or due punishment for it.

In an article in Total Rugby League in April this year,Michael Carter was critical of the salary cap increases and dispensations over the next 3 years .He said the clubs can spend what they like and with a clever accountant administering the club's salary cap return ,the sky is now the limit.
