Every season there are a couple of clubs who are up there early on. Jeez, we were 2 from 2 last year!

I expect by the time the business end comes around we will see the usual's in the top 6, bottom 4 positions.

Im gonna go something like:

Wigan
Warrington
Cas
Hull
Leeds
Catalans
Hudds
Saints
Salford
Widnes
Hull KR
Wakefield

Positions 7 to 10 are the ones, if any that i could probably see moving around.
I would be concerned if i was a Saints fan. Not looking great at the mo and if they were to lose Walmsley and/or Roby they would suddenly look bang average & Hudds need Brough back and firing straight away.

Wouldn't be too surprised if 11 & 12 switched also.

It seems unthinkable but I reckon one of Hudds, Leeds and Sts will be in bottom 4. I think it will be Hudds.

Hudds never replaced Ferres and the injuries on top of that is hurting them. But i think they'll make the top 8 in the end and i expect Ken Davey to get his chequebook out before long. Saints look the most vulnerable to me, lose Roby and they will have major problems.

At the moment the league seems much more competitive and therefore much less predictable than last year. I'd say Trinity and HKR in the bottom 4 plus any two from ?????? I can't imagine Leeds carrying on as they are and Huddersfield just have play us to kick start their season!! Widnes and Salford both look good at the moment but I can't see them maintaining this form throughout. Hopefully we can improve on last season simply by not finishing bottom. I think the middle 8s etc is a good idea BUT (and this won't be popular) I'd do away with the million pound game. It's a negative - every game doesn't matter (us v Sheffield last season?) - and it's not really much to cheer about if a SL team beats a Ch team to avoid relegation: more a sigh of relief than a celebration. The only way it can be meaningful is if a Ch team beats a SL team (unlikely imo), or if two Ch teams are involved or two SL teams are involved (both even more unlikely scenarios). No, keep the middle 8 format but, at the end of the season, the lowest placed SL team is relegated and replaced by the highest placed Ch team irrespective of where they are relative to each other. I know there are issues with this and it would have meant us being relegated last season but the mpg is like a penalty shoot out in soccer - exciting but a crap way of deciding the winner. Having said all that - if we must keep the mpg it should either be a two leg affair or be played at a neutral venue.
