| The only really best way for a business to save and not leak money, is to go through their accounting cost centres with a fine toothcomb and find out what is spent, when, where, and how much, and see if these are neccessary, and if they are, they need to look at if they are getting things at the right rates. Things like, electricity, gas, water and telephones for a start. I once worked somewhere where they were on domestic rates, rather than business. Then look at other things, such as stationary and staffing. Are all staff on the books, or are some temps, where you would pay a lot more for them, or dont outsource staffing, like they do with security.
A way to make more money, would not be to give their season tickets away and merchandise, like they do. If we sold say 4000 season tickets, and they went up by, say £20 a head, thats £80,000.
Also, events at the club on a night, such as parties, we dont make anything, because, we logically outsourced this in 2012.
I think it is in the making, but releasing a book on the history of the club would be a good way for the club to make something.
One final pointer, I used to work within a sports club, is that where I was used to host a monthly dinner, for corporate guests, where they had after dinner speakers. This made money, and was also used as a networking event for possible new sponsors, partners etc.
