Not neccesarily,very much depends on nature of injury and unless it's a compound fracture and the bone is poking through the skin or very close to it you can never be sure without Xrays.Imobilise by all means which is what they appeared to do then off to hospital Asap.No proffesional club in these days of litigation etc would run the risk of using unskilled/ second rate medical staff and even the amateur game these days have pretty high standards.hope this helps

No physio or doctor can 'run on' to the field at any level without having successfully completed the RFL's 'Immediate Medical Management on the Field of Play Course' which is accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons.

This has to be repeated every 2 years and is horrendous ... very, very intensive course with practical on field and written exams at the end (having been lucky to get through it it twice I can personally vouch for that!!). When I completed it the 2nd time my 1st thought on receiving my results was, apart from mega relief, 'I am never, EVER going through that again'

So point of this post ... if you see anyone treating players on the field they know what they are doing - trust me!!

My friends son who is a Physio and on the Club's medical staff only completed this course this week and passed so a big well done to him.
