Thanks guys...
I can promise you all it won't be at all like the previous 'poet in residence'.
The project has been funded by the Arts Council England and is the first of it's kind.
I will be working with the children, students and young people of Wakefield on a truly innovative project, which will inspire and hopefully change the lives of all those who take part.
Not only have the club chosen an artist who uses digital media to create art with, but one who also happens to be a full time wheelchair user, which I think they should be applauded for.
I've worked with the club on this project for a year and the Arts Council England have provided funding to ensure that we can reach as many young people as possible.
The club deserve a lot of praise for doing this, as the project will touch many lives and hopefully introduce a new audience to Trinity.
I have been a life long supporter, so will not let you down, as I know what is expected of me, and will do my best to do something which will do the name of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats RLFC proud, whilst providing a lasting legacy.
The mural will be made in such a way that it is fully transferrable to the new ground. It will tell the story of the club and I think the timing could not be better. The mural will be created in a truly unique way by the children of Wakefield.
There will also be an opportunity for fans to tell their own stories about Belle Vue, which will then be made into pieces of public art, celebrating our wonderful collective experience of this most special of clubs.
To give you some understanding of the effect that todays announcement has made, I think this can be yes illustrated by the fact that I have just finished an interview with a very large American organisation.
I can't wait to get started in September and assure you that you will all have a part to play in this, in what I firmly believe will be an amazing year
