Aiton has been one of our best players. Ali has been a bit hit and miss, would be better used off the bench IMHO. Southern has been playing out of position so can be cut some slack, Smith & John good in patches but need to find more consistancy. Collis hasn't looked fully fit since round one. Mellars is the one thats disappointed me the most, doesn't look anything special at all. As for Motu Tony I never really understood that re-signing anyway.

mainly for his mistakes. southern is way better than henderson ever was, however like you i want something special from an import, and somebody trundling round the middle of the park tackling is pretty much the stock trade of any forward so i don't see why we've imported one to do this. if southern does have more to offer, it's not at prop on on the touchline it would seem.

As ive heard many times, no half back looks good behind a beaten pack and apart from a few spells here and there we have not won the battle up front against anyone really yet.

Having said that, that doesnt excuse the shoddy kicking game.

A good second row will look OK at prop and a prop should give you a good game in second row. Class always shows whatever position a player is asked to cover. Its not like we've asked him to play in the halves or fullback.

For the odd game I agree with you but the fact remains Southern is not a prop and never will be. The bloke looks jaded to me. I would leave him out for a couple of games. The difference between him and Kirmond is there for all to see.
