if by buying odsal the RFL have shot themselves in the foot regarding shiny new stadia, it is quite possible priority may be directed towards home grown talent. as WTWC have now played 3 games which means 51 available selections (17 per game) how many have been filled by players who have come through the wakefield youth system?

Probably about as many as Bradford but would have been much more if other clubs didn't poach them- but that's the name of the game isn't it.

True, there is WT talent and youth throughout SL and NL. Whenever we develop or grow players that start to reach the international scene the big money clubs come rolling in.

Hopefully now a thing of the past. Plenty of promising youth coming through.

This season probably wood, walshaw and trout who are hg players. But we have had to endure a high turnover for 2012 to become competitive.

Home grown players have developed and left the club in the past because they probably had a better offer financially elsewhere and because Wakefield were going nowhere.(Let's face it last season really taxed the most diehard supporter!) You can't blame them but if I was such a player now I would seriously think twice about leaving. I would look at the what the new opwner is achieving and hang around to see what develops here!

It has been taxing and I realise that in past seasons we have been less stable and unable to match offers. However I accept that as part of sport and take some pride that the club have found and helped develop the westwood, Ellis, pitts,brough's of SL. That said I hope this will become a thing of the past and thankfully glover has set the stone wheel moving forward.

With crowds showing gradual increase, improvements, new stadium in line, good youth set up we are finally getting somewhere.

I'm not kidding myself we will be top of SL but we are working fast towards being well run and mid table (hopefully).
