If sky are wanting to spread the game maybe they should add some corporate muscle to this and instead of ruining the British Game spread it world wide.

Not a national sport, not a global sport.
Instead of adding another sport we should be removing some of the others that are neither of the above.

It's a disgrace that squash is not included in the Olympics.

I can't agree with this. I think the whole olympic 'sport' business is a joke. For instance, who really cares who the olympic football champions are? To put RL on the world stage in the olympics won't make it a worldwide sport. It will just draw players away from clubs probably when they can least afford it.
I really don't agree with all these add on 'sports' to the olympics - there are far too many events already, some of them have no right whatsoever to be associated with sport (Not including RL in this statement of course!)

I have a simple theory about this:

Any sport that has a competition which is deemed greater than the Olympics should not be part of the Olympics!

Soccer has countless competitions which are bigger than the Olympics - therefore shouldn't be there.

Tennis has the 4 grand slam tournaments which are all bigger and shouldn't be there.

Athletics / Swimming / Gymnastics / Rowing.... all the participants want to do is win Olympic medals - and that is why they should be there.

There was a lot of talk last year off having a hybrid game of League and Union 7s for the Olympics. I don’t know what happened to that but I think it would have been a real success. Hopefully it will come off one day, it would be ideal competition for such a tournament.
