Quote ="RebelRebel"It isn't, but that's not what he's claiming. It [iis[/i a pretty good indication that the club has been told it will get a franchise. I can't believe for one moment that the ebay medal man would sign a 2 year deal knowing that in 3 weeks time he might just as well have autographed an empty fag packet. Whether or not Crusaders go bust is a separate issue.'"
I see your point however I read it that people seem to think it somehow indicates Crusaders are financially sound and will survive - and I still think that's what was meant. Crusaders actually getting a franchise is a cert, no argument - in fact has anyone ever argued that?
However I don't see why you seem to think Senior wouldn't sign for a team that may not last when in my mind he clearly has. His motives may be many - he may be thick but I doubt it - he may have received a sweetener to make the risk worthwhile - he may not have recieved any other offers with anywhere near the [upotential[/u earnings this contract offers, so again worth the risk. What I do know is that this point in his career anything is worth a punt to grasp a few more pounds in the pension fund. For me Senior is the kind of high risk player a high risk club will go for, both have nothing to lose.
Just to turn it on it's head and I accept it's not relevant to Crusaders financial stability - can anyone really see Fester commuting to North Wales every other day. I reckon he will be on the sick list near permanently for the next however many years. He may lose any bonuses he has negotiated but it's a nice little earner whilst he builds up to a power seller on ebay
