Quote ="vastman"OK here we go again - binning a player before he even plays, come on guys.
Yes I agree it's not a signing I would call exciting - certainly not pivotal - however it doesn't IMO deserve the scorn it's getting.
Lets just look at it for a moment.
We are doing well, but we are still a young and inexperienced team - we are boys playing like men and that's worth remembering.
Semi is a big strong unit, he's also tough and there are not many of them available. When we face the big wingers in SL like Richards or King who do you want on the wing to stop them - Penny, Morton or even Griffin, George or Johnson? Answer is Semi - I don't think of him through rose tinted specs but what I do remember is that no ran over Tadulala.
There will come games where we can't contain teams in the forwards and the likes of Semi would be a godsend. He's a stop gap whilst youngsters like Griffin and Johnson mature - he takes the pressure off - there time will come.
Also if there is one position in RU where they produce better players than RL it's the wing IMO, I certainly don't think he will be a worse player for the experience.
Yes he wasn't prolific for us though he was for Bradford but he was still useful. He had a weakness under the high ball, but then name one of our wingers who doesn't. On the plus side he returns the ball faster, further and stronger than most.
Basically he's big, quick, strong and experienced, unless I'm wrong that's something we've been crying out for.
I think it's a decent signing, sadly in my mind it's not the exciting game maker I was hoping for - but that's not Semi's fault.'"
Well said mate all good common sense not a lot of it about
