I was their today and I think that there was plenty of effort but no skill whatever from the half backs. The basics of passing and taking men on was none existant from either halfback just satisfied with passing(poorly)most of the time or kicking high to the corners where most of the time Bradford players were waiting for it no other options in attack.
What's the big deal about Harvey all of a sudden. There seem to be a few posts saying that JK has done something wrong.
We needed cover. If when he comes he isn't (in JK opinion) as good as someone else in the squad, it shouldn't guarentee him a place.
You can't always tell until they are training with you.
Much as I'd like to have seen him play, Lee is playing really well and is probably the form player, so Harvey would either take Hyde's place or Davey's place. I don't think either have let anyone down, without quite being world beaters.
So unfortunate but hardly the travesty some people are implying. The other loans seem to be going ok so I don't think it really reflects so badly on us.
I thought Wakefield were good value today. We were limited on expertise but high on energy and effort. For now that's really all we can expect.
I've watched much better quality Wakefield teams than this one give up on a game that they were always unlikely to win.
They got a couple of opportune tries that on another day wouldn't have happened, like Vievers clearing the line and miskicking.
Morrison's mistake over the line was a try in all but the score, in that we threw it away rather than were stopped.
I think Lee is proving to be a great signing.
We are light in the forwards but we did a good enough job and will get better, especially with Gledhill and Amor adding to numbers
and I think Mariano is a "find". We need to give him the ball more.
Penny is good at what he does well but I think he'd be making way for the Huddersfield lad next week and I'm not sure Murphy needs a rest. Wasn't anywhere near his usual self yesterday.
One day (hopefully soon) these kids are going to be great. At the very least a bit more time playing together will help with attacking play. Very often the ball was spinning faster than anyone did last season but the defense could just wait for the runner as we didn't have a lot of running options. More practise will help with that.
I keep saying it but the effort they are putting in is good enough for me to keep watching.
It's going to be hard work over the next few fixtures but they still deserve the support in my opinion.
Morrison was Wakefields biggest attacking threat yesterday. When he cut back inside to join the ruck you knew an offload or inside pass was coming. Once Bradford shut him out of the game most of the attacking threats stopped (as both the other tries came from kicks or an interception).
