Quote ="TRB"I can't believe that no-one has mentioned Pryce - the guy was fantastic!
In fact, all their 'special' players - Eastmond / Pryce / Cunningham / Graham - were superb all night and caused us all the problems we endured.
But as has been laboured on here - the knock-ons killed us. Too much defending against a side too good not to take at least some of the oppotunites gifted them. Culprits (I know it's tough when they ALL battled so hard), but JD and Sam's distribution from Hooker were to blame for most of the errors. I would especially note the Murphy knock-on that ultimately cost us a try - it was a terrible pass from Sam, rather than Aaron's fault.
So - a game we had hopes of has gone away, but there are far too many positives to be down-hearted. It was a tremendous game of rugby, highlighted by the amazing Morton score and those who saw it will only be fuelled by the frustration that, without those bloody knock-ons, we could have won.
As it was Saints were better controlled than us and deserved the win.
PS - wouldn't mind seeing the Eastmond try again - it did seem like obstruction at the time and would just like to know if it was or not!
Bring on the Midgets!

From a Saints perspective I really enjoyed the win on Friday - it was a return to a sort of open rugby that we generally did'nt see last year because of the wrestle-a-thon which the referees gave latitude to.
I thought Wakey defended well throughout the game. On the one hand they defended well to allow them to go 12 -0 againstt he run of play, and were resolute when Saints threatened to roll early in the second half. First 20 minutes I though Saints looked too 'training ground' drilled, but thankfully they clicked, although too much appears to depend on Pryce.
I would be encouraged as a Wakefield fan that the defence not only stood firm after so much ball was spilled, but that the side never tired also.
Towards the end of the game the big Wakefield forwards were making good yards which allowed them to get back into the game. Coach Kear has built a well ordered and drilled team at Belle Vue. tronc looks a good prop and I am unsure why the Leaguer gave him a 6 rating. He was more dangerous than that.
Hope Wakefield fans enjoyed the game, that both teams tried to give the ball some air, and that the ref finally allowed the attacking team more of a crack at the play the ball. Brough going off hurt you in my opinion.
