Now correct me if im wrong as i may have been sniffing too much carrot oil, but i am sure that smoking is banned in belle vue?

I have no problem with folk smoking in designated areas, but yesterday in the north stand loads of people were smoking and i had must have had 20 cigs passively.

The stewards walked past and stood next to loads of people doing it and said nothing.

can anyone advise?

Don't know the definitive answer to your query, but at a game earlier in the season, there was a steward smoking under the roof of the North stand

I've never seen anything formally saying you can't smoke at Belle Vue.
I remember they said you couldn't in the wooden stand for fire reasons but as the rules go now for smoking in doors, I don't think the North Stand would count.
I thought the rule on that was that the structure would have 3 walls to get to the category of "indoors". So a bus shelter is out, as is a doorway to a building but our stand doesn't have sides.

Personally I'd have no problem with a world wide ban....but it would be good to have clarification from the club.

Was announced a few years ago that the stadium was no smoking. Delighted by that as I dont want to breathe someone elses exhaled smoke.

Non-smoker but in favour of a 'smoking' area if really needed. Don't agree with smoking under the roof, and the steward doing it should have been fired for not doing their job!

have asked about this several times as having had the dreaded C disease do not wish it to come back . However we never get any announcements and it appears people can smoke anywhere. I was pleased when at headingley they announced it was a non smoking stadium. A smoking are would be fine but smoking in the middle of fans is appalling

I must admit that I thought that the ground was non-smoking, and have a recollection that it used to be announced as such several years ago (although I may have imagined this).

yeah there were 3 blokes smoking continuously in front of me and they wouldnt take the subtle hint so i will have to say something next time.
I was getting frustrated enough watching the game that i didnt want to start an argument on the terraces as well.

Perhaps the club should start selling tabs at the bottle bars.

I sometimes have a puff at games

but pockets i remove myself from the stand and walk to a quiet spot away from other fans, always have.

Its not on and you should not have to put up with it.
