The Wally Lewis backer famously never paid up shades of Pearman there. As for Mortimer it was Chris Mortimer we got not Steve and for me was a big disappointment. We were expecting a stand off and ended up with a guy who played in the back row. The story went at the time that we signed the wrong brother by mistake. It is nice to know that cock ups are not a recent phenomenon at Wakefield but have been around for years. Will things ever change.

I remember Ella being class until he had to go home due to injury. He certainly gave us more value for money that Mark Graham and Brent Todd that season. |
