I am absolutely sure, i am his father and we have been talking about these negotiations as they progessed. York have been fantastic about it and JD mentioned that the CEO and Chairman were 2 of the nicest and fairest people he has ever come across. Back to the original issue there has and never will be any transfer fee for Jason.

Yeah, the new bosses at Keighley arnt daft, if there was a be a big fee involved, they simply would have just given the job to someone else that wasnt costing an arm and a leg, they just dont have the money for transfer fees

Great news!

As our new 'player-coach', I'd like to see him in the thick of it. Leading, organising, prompting and coaching his young players - similar to Alan Kellett who did a great job at loose-forward after he became too slow at stand-off.

Rapid distribution of the ball to our three-quarters would be great (instead of keeping the ball in the forwards) - you cannot beat pace.

Only time will tell but his committment over the years cannot be faulted and for someone with an approach to the game like that it cannot.

Let's hope that his appointment will increase our gates (once we start winning again).

Great for you guys, absolute top bloke is JD. In terms of value for money, probably the best overseas player we've had at Wakey. He has seen some real adversity at Wakey which I'm sure will make him a better leader. I'll be keeping a special look out for your results. Good Luck JD.

jd signed a get out clause to become a coach, but not as a player/coach, theres the differance, so as long as he dosnt play for you then you owe us nowt.

Can't see why we would choose to pay to take on an inexperienced coach when we had a choice of others who were proven.

There is a lot of fanciful talk on the York forum (which is their perogative) with suggestions that they can cherry pick our players as part of a compensation package. They even have the cheek to say that none of them are good enough!!!



If we do have to pay, then fair enough, but at some point York need to get their feet back on the ground. They may pull off a few surprise victories but are otherwise in for a rude awakening.

A little bird tells me their coach has a 3 page get out clause, we could see York rudderless come March

Yet their club thinks Jonny Presley is good enough and I wouldn't have had him in our top 10 performers last season.

York fans seem to think Dave Woods is superman and will have Presley making mincemeat out of all those second rowers/centres that will run at him



I can imagine Dave Woods wearing his underpants on the outside complete with flowing cape, striding back and forth with chest (belly) thrust forward, expounding the mysteries of good defence to John



I'm not knocking John, he is what he is. He will score tries against anyone but does not have the heart for defence.

As for DW's contract, I understand it only ever got to draft stage, and is spread between a tablecloth, the back of a toilet door and several beer mats
