| Good to hear some really positive comments about the Cafe on here .
I'm sure Ellie and her team from Project 6 will be heartened to read them .
I know there are plenty of folk working their derrieres off this weekend to make the venture a success . [i(Not least a certain Mr Korkidas and Mr Obst who have spent some time this week making sure that everything is ready for the big launch !!) [/i All we need now is folks to spread the word amongst your fellow fans and support the Cafe .
I'm sure Andy's pies will go down a storm !!!
As has already been alluded to on a previous thread , much of the graft and negotiation behind the scenes to get the place operational has been done by Mary Calvert , who came up with the original idea and has put a massive effort to get all the business backing and support to make it happen .

| Excellent pies - but I was expecting a traditional pork pie!
Could I suggest mint sauce made with vinegar as opposed to mint jelly - would be cheaper also.

| I had a cracking pie.
Some negatives about it.
1) No soup. Hopefully next time.
2) If this is going to be a permanent fixture. Then someone needs to get rid of the burger van. This takes trade away from it and it also takes trade away from the little tea/coffee window that the club has.

I agree there. I have been thinking the same thing.
I think there should also be signs directing people to where the food is. I'd imagine many people still don't know that this food was available. I only just got to the ground for kick off though so I don't know if there was any announcements over the tannoy?
Anyway, is it just pork pies available there or is there anything different available for the awkward non-meat eaters like myself?

I ate my pie in the bar no questions asked.
They had them on sale inside the bar after the game. I think the no fast food rule is more aimed at stopping folk buying stuff from McDonalds and KFC and bringing it in.
Pretty good pie anyway, a little more pepper in there would have been nice for my taste although I'm being a little pedantic. Let's hope it continues and eventually expanded to cover things like pork pies, onion bhajis, samosas,etc. Maybe Andy could work a bit of magic and develop a hot dog that rivals the ones in Toulouse?
One thing I would say is that they definitely need to get rid of the burger van. From what I've been told the club gets a bit of revenue from it being there. However you could end up with a situation where there competition for sales from outlets in the same ground which wouldn't be good..

The Toulouse one was about 10 inches long, it had a relatively course texture for a Sausage, was served in a half baguette, and finished off with Dijon Mustard Mayonnaise. And at €2.50 was an absolute bargain. I await some innuendo jokes....
When we inevitably get them away in the Challenge Cup you could fly down for market research purposes.

Quite understand Andrew, I used to help run a fish shop in my youth and we used to keep the menu as simple as possible to meet the demands of the customer whilst also giving us a rapid turnover of stock.

on the subject of ' food in the bar'..the signs are only there to try and stop folks heading up to MC-D's n KFC ,then coming in the HOF . not consuming any beverages on the premises, and then expecting Cougar staff who are employed to sell beverages behind the bar, to clean up after them.........not..
Grub from the Progress Cafe does n come into this ...

| A big pat on the back for all concerned and a tremendous job done , I've owned 4 sandwich shops in the past and know how hard it is running a food outlet.......getting quality food out fast and so many things go on behind the scenes that people don't see , food tempratures ,cleaning etc etc etc.
So , Well done everyone involved and long may it continue , just get rid of the carp butty van and the jobs sorted !!!
