I am currently a season ticket holder and I think the offer is excellent. The one suggestion I would have though, is that the club should be concentrating 110% on securing our position in the Championship before trying to flog us a golden ticket to the promised land before we are even there. Seems a little bit premature on the club's behalf to me.

Or maybe trying to keep the supporters should we go down ?

What it is with Sports teams in the UK racing each other to price fans out of the market?

Realistically I can't commit to a season ticket - Due to other commitments I don't know how many games I would be able to attend. And then for individual games £17 is very expensive...beyond what i am willing to pay for 90 mins entertainment. You also risk not attracting families, and the next generation of Cougar fans, as it becomes a very expensive day out instead of being a normal family activity.

Times like this I wish I lived in the States where you can see top quality sport for a fraction of the cost.

Kids are free and I do not know any other entertainment where that is the case.

As a result families are not priced out.

Whilst there are cheap tickets I'm sure they aren't less than $28 and are sold out anyway. Tickets I've seen start at $80 upto silly money.

However your point is valid, when any price goes up consumers look at what they are getting for their money:

Will we have a team that can consistently perform to move above mid table?
Will the playing suface be improved? - more grass, less weeds.
Will the toilets be improved?
Will the tannoy be improved?
Will the supporters bar be improved?
When will the wooden stand be given a decent burial. We know the club have plans, but when?

We won't encourage the casual supporter or new supporters to turn into regulars.

Personally, I'm not against a rise if the club can justify it, but as far as I know, many of the clubs in our division this year are still at £15.

The early season ticket deal is excellent and I may well buy one.

Its only 8 games, out of 14 to be in front, so looks very good to me, especially if you live locally, and don't work 2 Sundays in 3. As you gather, I don't score on either of those fronts. Now only need 1 point, even assuming Batley win both their last 2 games, so pretty safe.

Baseball, the one I know best, yes, you can go to a AAA (2nd level, best comparison) game, and sit anywhere for between $8-12. But they're priced low, its 140 games a year, so...and to be blunt, the facilities at these grounds is better than Cougar Park, assuming there haven't been drastic changes of late

Yes 2 bought for partner and I plus shirts. Great offer. Thanks club for rewarding loyal supporters. Will present them happily at gate next season especially when the Dulls come to town. Know lads will do it at Dewsbury.

You are assuming Batleys appeal is not successfull then against the 3 points deduction

Bob, Batley are lucky its only 3 points and having read your chairmans statement the appeal is based on the fact there is an appeal process.

If Batley get the points back. Rugby league is currupt.

The appeal process is a double edge sword, you could end up being docked more points

Only going by the number of folk wandering into the YSC offices at CP by mistake looking to pay for said season tickets I'd say the take ups been fairly good ....

Clearly, I missed out. I thought the offer was on until the Featherstone match "and it will END at the SAME TIME as the Featherstone match promotion, i.e. midnight on 28th August." I didn't read the date but I do think it was rather missleading unless of course, I've missed the Featherstone match as well ...... anybody tell what the score was, did we win?

It's a shame you have missed out on the season ticket deal but it was hardly misleading.

All the important information is highlighted and the use of the word 'promotion' defines this offer as not to be confused with the actual Featherstone game.

It is very unfair to accuse the club of being misleading imo, you missed out because you failed to read the offer details as they were set out.

Sometimes when we get things wrong it's best to hold our hands up and say 'Hey I got it wrong'.

Maybe if put this way to the club then the chairman who is a very reasonable man may be willing to offer another extension to the offer.

It would also benefit anyone paid at the end of the month also after all

It's nobodies fault but my own, so guess what ... "I got it wrong" and as I mentioned I didn't read the whole description, so guess what ... "I got it wrong!!!" but on the other hand to state that the offer "will END at the SAME TIME as the Featherstone match promotion" is misleading, why state that?, unless we have stopped promoting the match! I don't think I got that bit wrong ... or did I?

The idea of approaching the chairman, who I am sure is a very resonable man, and saying "hey, I didn't read the full desciption for the offer, basically "I got wrong" but will you offer an extension .. pretty please" isn't going to happen, I will continue to cry into my beer "mutter mutter"
