| Firstly, well done to Marchy and the lads. It's not easy playing against 14 for most of the match !
I've been a supporter of Rugby League for 50 years and like many, have had to tolerate ever growing foul and abusive language. In the bar at half time, I along with my mate, had to listen to the worst level of foul language I've heard for a long time in this area, all comeing from the Hunslet supporters. Not caring there were ladies and young children around them. Bearing in mind our club tried to make this game a 'family day' with the special offers. Is it time we made a stand against this behaviour and display a notice in the bar area barring this type of language ? After all we do make an announcment before the match that 'foul & abusive language' will not be tolerated.
Don't missunderstand me, I'm not 'Mr Innocent' I've used this language, usually with male colleagues at work and certainly not in the presence of women & children. A lot of the times we were stood in a GUTTER.
I want to start bringing my Grandson, but not to listen to this. How many parents think the same ?

| I agree with the above, the language in the bar at half time was not acceptable I was about to say something but I think it would have just made it worse, also what are the rules regarding this on the pitch, I heard one Hunslet player who can also been seen and heard on Mickys excellent video shout at the top of his voice, you ******* lazy ****, if I had been the Referee I would have sent him off for foul and abusive language. On a lighter note well done to Marchy and the boys for battling out a victory, that was not easy for different reasons.

| Not all Hunslet fans. There are Keighley Fans who also were guilty of this.
Three fans who I have not seen before stood behind me and and there were 2 families with children.
One was very loud and swearing using the F word and calling the ref a ***ker which I would have to then try and edit out.
I asked him to stop and he did. However did ask me to film somewhere else !!!

| I agree Micky, I heard someone "supporting" Keighley shout a comment about the colour of a persons skin and looking a peoples reactions and shouts of whoa whoa whoa so did they, I did not see who it was but I did hear it, but the comments above are about what we saw and heard and unfortunately they were Hunslet fans, but whoever says it in front of families its not acceptable, but what could and should be done, could the player heard quite clearly shouting the obscenities have been sent off ?.

| We can happily put up something in the Bar Geoff ...TBH I never heard owt but if it happens again give us the nod behind the bar and we can have a steward there sharpish..
Got to agree with John n Mickey though that there was a few home 'supporters' who were well out of line as well yesterday , a few in front of the bar who spent the entire match berating and abusing the touch judge spring to mind ...maybe it was the warm weather and the atmosphere coming across from the antics on the field but it really wasnt a pleasant atmosphere at all yesterday

| In my opinion it's something that's creeping back in the game now. Why I don't know.
It's an issue that needs addressing and I suppose is dealt with easier at the time rather that retrospectively. The odd word may slip out and I don't think any reasonable person would bemoan that, but if it's repeated it needs stamping out. If that's our own fans or away fans same rules apply.
I don't think we can just point the finger at Hunslet. Leigh weren't great last year, Workington have been guilty in recent seasons and I think one game last season there was some racial complaints but can't recall the team we were playing. As a club maybe it needs reinforcing and positive action taken against offenders.

| I'm pleased I've hit on a problem that other people recognise. To attract families and future supporters, the club must be seen to be making positive steps to stamping out this type of language. I didn't mean to point the fingure at one club. It must be an issue with other clubs too. I also, heard the racial comment on Sunday. Disgusting.
We need to eradicate this problem before gets out of hand.

| Must say I try my best not to swear down at Cougar Park and have told people in the past about it. However what can you expect when the music that is been played down at the club contains swearing. It has happened on more than one occasion this year?

| Where does it say I blame the club? Its up to each individual not to swear. Like ive said though it does not set a good example when music with swearing in it is been played.
I hate to say it and I dont condone swearing but maybe a little more boisterous behaviour may get more fans down at the club and before anyone jumps on me saying that im saying swearing and poor behaviour is ok I'm not. All im saying is that Cougars have had the same fans for year's and a lot still live in the Cougar mania days.
I for one if I went to my first Cougars match and all I saw all game was fans shouting at the ref all the tine I wouldn't return. Them lads with the drum on Sunday really brought an atmosphere to Cougar Park and I hope they still keep coming

| Rather than seek out a steward there used to be a number you could text last year about abusive and foul language at the ground. Can we have something like this back and let Cougars once again be a forward thinking club and blaze a trail towards maintaining rugby league as a family sport - probably unique these days and show brainless yobbos from whatever club that it is NOT acceptable to be racist, or abusive.

| From where I was standing Danny Jones was also using the 'F' word on several occasions, which was clearly audible to everyone on the terraces (including my 4-year-old grandson).
Is this a truly 'family game' as everyone would like us to believe when such language is used by players who are supposed to set an example to the fans and supporters?

| It's evident there are more people like myself who feel it's time to eliminate foul language. I note, the club has now extended the 'Family Deal' to the Dewsbury match. This is the ideal opportunity for the club to put in place some measures to achieve this objective.
Is the club taking note of this thread, if not, who do we contact to set the ball rolling ?
A response from the club would be appreciated.

| Will anyone/everyone please tell me why they criticise the supporters when Danny Jones is a major-user of the 'F' word when he is on the pitch?
What do I say to my 4-year-old grandson when he says 'What does Fxxx mean grandad?'
Will and can the Club respond?

The same as you would if it was said in the street.
I am pretty we have all said things in the heat of the moment. If any of you really think a player is not going to swear at some point during a game. You really need to get out more.

Got to agree with that. Rugby league is a tough, physical, passionate sport and as someone who plays the game who also thinks of themself as eloquent and having a good command of the English language, there are occasions when swearing at team-mates is the only option.
Although I can see people's point of view about fans language on the terraces, saying about sending players off for swearing is ridiculous.
I think personally that swearing is less the problem and it's more fans aggressive behaviour which can sometimes encompass swearing and racism which cause issues. I feel that banter between opposing fans and giving the officials a bit of a hard time is all part of the 'family atmosphere' and theatre of a game but occasionally this spills over as certain idiots take it too far.

| @666 I'm sorry you feel this way but come on, it seems we are trying find to problems now when really we should 110% behind the lads it was a good win on Sunday and I hope we can perform/improve like that against Swinton and the big one against Dewsbury and continue to give 110% for the remainder of the season. So lets forget about it and move on, I'm sure Danny wont use language like that all the time, its just on the pitch things get heated end of!

| Different people are more or less offended by different things and you can't criticise someone if they feel it isn't the right environment for them or their kids or grandkids and trying to bang the drum of blind support is the wrong way to go. As I've said already, players swear in the moment and it's difficult to really do anything about that but choices of where abouts to stand to protect younger ears could be made perhaps. I've been going to Cougar Park for over 20 years and the only time I've heard anyone really swear was when the physio told me my knee was f***ed when I was 17.

| This post does seem to have provoked many different opinions. I accept Kenco that we need to focus our attention on the field and support the lads. The've had a difficult season and we should not be too critical of them & get behind them as I aways do.
It was not my original complaint to critisise players for swearing, that was instigated by another reply.
Being involved in sport as player or coach can bring it's frustration, as I know only too well.
My original point was the mindless use of the 'F' word in family area's regardless of the fact there were Women & Children in earshot. Remember the club has extended the 'Family Day Offer' to the Dewsbury game !
Also the racial comment from one supporter.
