Gerrard isn't a centre midfielder anymore, Mascherano and Alonso fit the bill perfectly, Gerrard has shown he's the best supporting striker in the world. Our formation works well, the balance is near perfect, we just lack a bit of creativity out wide at times. A £30m Carlos Tevez is extremely unnecessary, I thought Robbie Keane shown that.

Yeah, but we're not in the position to have £30m players to back up, and Tevez doesn't want to be a back up. There's no use in buying a £30m player in an area where we're strong just to back up, when we could invest that £30m in areas where we're a little weak, like right back, or the flanks.
