Talking of centre halves, surely City have to get rid of Dunne. Just imagine if Sven managed to sign Chiellini when he first arrived, would have been a fantastic signing for the rumoured fee.

what about this season? our midfield tore united apart, oh and gerrard didn't play at anfield..

trust me agger is a world class centre back in waiting, he reminds me so much of the best 2 ever..................bobby moore and jocky hansen

I don't think Agger's better than Skrtel. I like Agger, he oozes class, but he isn't a dominant defender like Skrtel.

jocky was never a diminant centre back neither was moore, i would love to see agger and skirtl play together more, as i feel that their contrasting styles would complement each other perfectly,

Campbell looks like our number1 target anyway, Gibson i thought along with Welbeck was there 2 best players when they played us 2 weeks ago but with Carrick, Fletcher, Anderson, Scholes and Hargreaves in the squad hes not going to get a look in and Simpson did a good job for Blackburn..

Newspapers are suggesting that Dunne is going to Spurs. I like Dunne because he has given the club his all. However, he was responsible for us dropping around 12 points this season. Along with Richards, he also contrived to let Hamburg qualify for the semi. If Dunne stays at the club, I sincerely hope that it is as 3rd choice back-up.

I'd like Agger as his replacement.

A centre-half has to be our priority, along with someone who can play as a lone striker.

Yeah. You could never knock Dunne for effort, but he just seems so error-prone, he could have a game where he'd be a rock and nothing would get past him, only to follow that up with a pair of brain farts in the next game.

Agger's just signed a new contract, so he's going nowhere



Kompany looks good, but you could do with a real top drawer defender. Raul Albiol at Valencia is good, but would take time to adapt, I feel.

You are a teacher but your comprehension skills are poor. I am not surprised as they allow anyone to be a teacher nowadays. Call centre workers require higher levels of educational achievement.

Indeed. He can produce some excellent performances, but then at times he is very, very poor. We need a bit more consistency.

Our best central defender this season has been Onouha. He looked a great talent when he was 18 yrs old but he had so many injuries that he spent around two years on the treatment table or trying to get fit. We need someone to play alongside him.




Albiol is a quality player but there is talk of him going to Real, as part of the £300m Galactico recruitment drive. We have no chance if Real are interested.

I was gutted that we didn’t get Chielleini as I rate him very highly. IMO he’s the best Italian defender by quite a distance ATM.

Kompany is a centre-half. I would imagine that Hughes will plat him in defence or he will be used as a squad player.

We are, according to the newspapers, interested in Lescott. That would be interesting if it came off. I think he and Onouha would complement each other quite nicely, and both have a lot of improvement left in them.

I expect City's CB's will be Kompany, Carvalho Onhua & Lescott.

I'd like to see Dunne stay but not as captain or regular starter. Since it would be something of a humiliation for him to drop down to 3rd or 4th choice it may be better for him to move elsewhere. He would still deserve the title of City's Player of the Decade.

I'm surprised City haven't been linked with Jagielka, he was a City fan as a kid, and is one of the best centre halfs in the county, better than Lescott IMO.
