Having more seats enables you to charge less I guess, although we do have some daft prices. Season ticket is £514, some are alot more expensive.

Both Carrick and Anderson had a fall out with Fergie over pre-season about their form and their training. Whereas all the rumours were that Anderson was going to walk out after not been played in the Charity Shield, after getting dropped and then getting back in the side he hasn't done too badly, so has deserved his place when picked.
Scholes has had a decent start to the season and so apart from when suspended he has given Fergie a choice between Anderson and himself. Unfortunately, Carrick was given a chance v Burnley and was very poor, including his penalty, he obviously hasn't impressed Fergie enough in training / in the bits of games he's had since to overhaul Anderson or Scholes. Scholes can't play every game every week, so ATM when he isn't playing Anderson will.
Obviously, the other CM spot is Fletcher's, nobody else at the club is good enough / consistent enough ATM to take that spot, it'll be interesting to see how Fergie plays it when / if Hargreaves gets back to match fitness, because it will be mightly cruel to drop Fletcher on his form of the past couple of years.

Well why don't they charge less for away fans then? To be asked to pay £42 for the cheap seats and £49 for the others is nothing short of scandalous.

Same everywhere Dave, think it was £70 a few years back at Chelsea. Most clubs charge more for away fans.

It also seems quite harsh on Carrick to me as he was excellent last season but at least we have competition for place which we will need as the season progresses. Carrick will be itching for his shot with it being WC year. Hargreaves would get the Fletcher role ideally but there is no way he will displace Fletcher on present form. He could possibly play rightback?
It's a shame we don't have the same competition for wingspots, Valencia and Nani are both failing to impress for me.

| A couple more members of Rovers premiership winning squad have moved into management as Chris Sutton has taken over at Lincoln City with Ian Pearce as his assistant.
Lets hope he makes a better job of it that the others from that squad that have had a go at managing as Shearer,Hendry and Newell haven't exactly been top class managers so far.

Aye I know. Hopefully, he bucks his ideas up because his passing will be vital in the latter end of the season / Champions League.

You would've thought so, this is what makes his poor form / training seem very odd.
Quote ="PAUL M"Hargreaves would get the Fletcher role ideally but there is no way he will displace Fletcher on present form. He could possibly play rightback?'"
Before his injury I seem to remember Hargreaves playing RB and RM, IIRC he was particularly effective on RM, getting passed defenders and getting a decent ball in. For me though, he has to play in CM, he's an excellent tackler and distributer. There is no real reason why he and Fletcher couldn't work together in the middle, but only time will tell.
Quote ="PAUL M"It's a shame we don't have the same competition for wingspots, Valencia and Nani are both failing to impress for me.'"
The Stoke game apart, I actually think Nani has had a decent start to the season. His main problem is his poor distribution and crossing. Sometimes his thinking is off too, as he often makes the wrong decision, see some of his shooting on Saturday for example.
His biggest problem is that he is living in Ronaldo's shadow. There is a fairly good blog on the Beeb website saying that if he concentrated more on his own game and listened to Giggs on crossing / decision making etc instead of trying to mimmick Ronaldo it would make him a better player, I agree totally.
I actually think Valencia is a pretty decent player and will only get better. When him and Giggs are on the field we look like we can string a decent attack down both wings. Valencia has the ability to take men on and get a decent ball in. Apart from them two and Nani though we only have Tosic and Park.
IMO Park has been poor for a while now, and doesn't really offer much. He had two very very good chances versus City to either put us in front / stretch our lead, and both times he wasted it. We certainly looked much better when he went off. I've not seen any of our Reserve games this season so I have no idea how Tosic is getting on, I would like to see him get a few games this year.

| I tell you what, Arsenal fans could learn a lot from the way the West Ham fans behaved tonight.
Carlos Tevez was applauded on and he was applauded for both goals but, tellingly, Craig Bellamy, who they did have some beef with, was booed just the once and then they moved on to doing what they were there for, supporting their own team.

No it is not the same everywhere.
I am in charge of our Supporters Club ticket sales and only Chelsea can match United for their shocking ripping off of away supporters.
How can we justify London clubs, whose home fans pay infinitely more to watch their team, charging us £35 whilst United are charging £42 and £49?

For away fans? You are misinformed (not the first time, eh?). City fans were charged c£48 for our last two trips. I accept we are not 'Category A' but Spurs are, and my missus was charged c£50. A lot of money but still way below £70.

Arsenal
West Ham / Spurs
Fulham

Those games a ridiculously expensive for United fans. From memory, Arsenal were about £55, Fulham £55 and West ham £50. In fairness to the clubs, they know they'll sell the tickets, so they'll charge more. The London clubs may not feel they have that luxury with City. Supply & demand and all that.

Good point regarding Nani. Hopefully he will mateure as this season goes on and he will start making better decisions the more game time he gets. Saturday was a prime example, he was on a great break with Berba inside him and ended up fluffing the chance comepletely. I like Park personally and think he tends to play better in the bigger games. Only seen glimpses of Tosic and from what I have seen I am not impressed but that is probably a bit harsh on my park. Have you seen much of the other guy Laaic (sp) who is coming in Jan?
