Not now I don't think. I think he's comeback because he knows he needs to cement his legacy.
Plus the whole thing with Pacquiao getting a title shot despite not fighting at 147lbs really pi55ed me off. I've always said I don't think anyone up to 154lbs beats Mayweather and I still believe that (his performance against Marquez was one of the best displays I've ever seen). Floyd has as good a defense as anyone of the modern era, has better head movement and doesn't fight in straight lines like Cotto. The only chance Manny has IMO is to pressure him for 3 minutes every round like Castillo did.

The Americans have never liked Floyd.

| Hatton may make a come back.. against Marquez!
It's on Sky Sports website this morning. Bad move IMO. Hatton looked shocking when interviewed on Friday. OK he isn't training for a fight but he just looked so so so unfit. I know it's nothing new with him but I don't think this is a smart move for him.
JMM is still a top fighter in my eyes

If it happens I will still delude myself that Hatton can win.

| You have to worry about what is actually driving Hatton to want to fight again??
I think its well accepted, since his 2 defeats, that he is never going to be in that top bracket of 'all time great', which is certainly no disgrace.
Financially, he must be doing ok...He has had some mega fights and so must be well set up for life.
So what exactly has he got to fight for??....Even if, and its a big if, he was to beat Marquez, I think most people, even his fans, would simply shrug and say something along the lines of 'Nice one Ricky, but he never quite could mix it with the greats'.
I would hate to see the guy go out on a series of legacy-denting defeats, especially against Amir Khan, which is surely the direction it seems to be taking?....Please Ricky, pack it in while we still have mainly good memories.

| If this fight happens it will be interesting to see whom trains him? Freddie Roach or Nasim Richardson would sort out his fundimental flaws.
Kessler - Ward this weekend. Come on Kessler!

| There is no room for sentiment in sport and Hatton should have left Graham as soon as he turned pro.
Roach would have made him into a far better boxer.

Harsh about Billy Graham. ATEOTD, Hatton was 41/42-0 with Graham and a multiple world champion. He also lasted 10 rounds with arguably the greatest boxer of our era under Billy's tutelage. Grahams mollycoddling of Hatton and his ability to train Hatton down from 14-15 stone into a world champion 10 stone fighter can't be underestimated.

You can't be responsible for what a fighter does, or wants to do, between fights. The only person responsible for Hatton ballooning between fights is himself, and that would have been the same irrespective of who his trainer had been.

| Graham has said in the past Hatton's habits between fights were not ideal, but he needed to do it in order to stay sane.
If I were Hatton though I'd want to stay in shape just to make sure my fine bird didn't leave me.

I hope the fight does go ahead. It would be better remembering Hatton as a winner (if he does win) rather than someone who was last seen knocked the f*** out on the ring floor (excluding his cameo appearance in WWE last week )

I agree. Even if he loses, his last fight should be in Manchester.

So a better trainer like Roach wouldn't have let that happen? I wonder why Roach couldn't 'make' Pacquaio leave the Phillipines a few weeks before the Cotto fight then. Some trainer he is.

| Hatton doesn't have the natural ability of Mayweather or Pacquiao, so hard to call Billy Graham on his falings in those two fights. He may never have pounded Castillo out of there in 4 or Tsyzu in 11 under other trainers. He's always been a charge forward, defend with your chin fighter and it was always going to be his downfall against World class boxers with fast hands, or World class counterpunchers. The 2 losses on his record are against probably the best 2 boxers of the last 10 years.

It's not the same thing.
I don't think Roach would've accepted it. Giving Ricky the choice, sort yourself life out when you're not fighting or find a new trainer.

| Good fight last night Rendall Munroe v Simone Maludrottu.
Will have to perform much better if he gets his world title shot but I am sure he can and hopefully Frank Maloney can get the Japanese champion over to Leicester or more likely Nottingham to give 2 Tone the best chance of a win.
Top bloke and deserves everything he gets out of the sport.
