| The Blackhawks need to seriously assess Huet as No.1 as yet again they outshoot their opponents only to be undone by awful netminding after Huet lets in 4 from 18 leading to a 4-1 loss to the Sens. Wasn't a great team performance by Hawks standards but thats when you need your No.1 guy to make a save to help.
Even Alfredsson admitting Hawks where the dominant team and had the better chances of scoring!!!!!!!
Come on Quenneville sort him and his head out and put Niemi in with Crawford as backup. We've gone from Khabibulin hit and miss form on a ridiculous contract to Huet. For me he is the biggest worry and reason why we won't win the Cup unless he sorts his freaking head out.

| Looks like Burke has got fed up of watching this seasons Leafs as he traded a ton of them away today.
1st he traded Hagman,Mayers,White and Stajan for Calgarys Phanuef,Sjostrom and a prospect. Then he traded N/M Toskala and Blake for Anaheims n/m Giguere.Looks like Kessel will have to do all the scoring on his own as they've hardly got any forwards left

Have to say I think Sutter must have been drunk to do that deal, out of the 4 players he's traded for Phanuef only White is half decent, seems he's filling the Flames with 3rd & 4th liners . Certainly looks like the Leafs have improved in the two trades as Giguere for Toskala is a good move too.
The Flames fans must be pi$$ed at that deal and so must the the team after getting their arris's kicked in the Saddledome.

| Inconsistant netminding costs the Hawks a win on returning home after their 8 game road trip losing 3-2 to the slowly improving Blues.
Another game in which the Hawks outshoot and in most parts outplay their opponents and dont take any points with Huet only making 16 saves from 19 shots which if the Hawks want to win Lord Stanley just isnt good enough.
Huet has the talent but just doesnt seem to be able to get himself ready mentally, now we are back to the same scenario we were in with Khabibulin, an inconsistant player, that no other team wants to trade for thanks to a ridiculous deal.

I'm gutted. My girlfriend's a sharks fan and she's not let me forget about it. Good game though. Leafs murdered them in the 3rd.

| The NHL has shut down for 2 weeks while the players play for their countries in the olympics.I'm looking forward to the games and with no GB in it I have adopted Finland for the next couple of weeks but I think the final will be Canada/Russia with the big red machine ruining it for the hosts with Russia winning 4-2.Finland for the bronze beating the suprising Slovakians.

| Personally I'm going for the Yanks, think semi's is as far as they'll get though. Think Canada will be the ones to beat if I'm honest. Talking with my Finnish work mate (who plays) he doesnt see Suomi doing well as he reckons they are in a transtional period from where they were 3 or 4 years ago, he also thinks the Slovaks could be a suprise finalist!! But says the Swedes are rank!!! I wonder why

Should be a great with quite a bit of physical stuff as well as flair, can see the Slovaks edging.

Oops typo should have been 3-1
Finland 5-1 Belarus, Sweden 2-0 Germany & Czechs 3-1 Slovaks
Not suprised that Finland or Sweden got a win, thought the Slovaks would have pinched the game and would have been right if Jagr hadn't produced a top performance as he proved the difference in a good contest.

| USA/Finland Canada/Slovakia are the semi finals.I managed to predict 3 of the 4.I was dissapointed in the Russians but until they start developing better D men they aren't going to win the gold in the future. When Grebeshkov,Kalinen and Tyutin are 3 of your top D men then you know your in trouble.

| It's USA/Canada in the final.I hope the Americans win as HNIC will be unbearable for the rest of the season if the Canucks win.You can bet that Cherry win up the 'Europeans are no good' rants that he does now that none made the final.

| NHL season started again last night with the RedWings beating the Avs 3-2.12 games tonight and after ESPN changed their 360 service while the olympics were on I hope the ESPN Player works as good as 360 did.
