A human being made an error. There is no need need for his "I hope he gets suspended" comment.

Players and managers are often asked to explain their comments or behaviour, Warnock's point was why don't officials. He does have a point, if a ref cocks up he should miss a week or be demoted down a division.
I don't agree with Warnock all the time but, he felt angry about it and had a point, however for making that point he could end up with a fine, which is wrong.

Yeah, we were after him long before he went to Palermo. Pretty sure he claimed to be a Liverpool fan not too long ago, but I'm sure in the same interview he said his support of Liverpool wouldn't stop him playing for United, or something along those lines.

I haven't seen the incident, but reading match reports it seems that it was two players going up for a header, the lino thought it came off a Palace players head so he awarded a corner. TV replays suggest it came off the Villa player.
IMO that happens roughly 5 times a game. It's extremely hard to make that decision so refs and linos are obviously going to make mistakes. You just get over it and defend the corner properly and there's no problem. If your side don't defend properly and let a goal in you can cry like a baby.
Managers are under clear instructions not to slag off officials post match. Warnock has done that. He chucked his dummy out of the pram and the toys followed. He deserves a fine. The limo may have made an error, but it's likely to have been an honest error. Warnock made a decision to slag off the lino after the game. He alluded to having to pay a huge fine if he used the words he wished to use about the lino, he called him incompetent and called for him to be banned for a long time. Warnock's error is far, far larger than the lino.

Uncle Malc will no doubt try sign him. He can join Owen, Hargreaves, Neville, Rio and Vidic in the physio room.

It wasn't two players going up for a header, it was fairly clear cut. He did not know what to give so just pointed for the corner.
Warnock refrained from saying they were robbed/cheated but still said more than he wishes he had i'd imagine. Yet the players can scream, swear and abuse the refs all they like and nothig happens. What do the FA expect, the players do as they like as do the refs yet a manager says one wrong word and they want to fine him. It's laughable.

To be fair to the officials, at real speed it looks as though the keeper has got the last touch. You have to see it again from a different angle in slow-mo, with freeze frame on the actual contact of the ball to see that it came off the Villa player's head. Impossible to call really. I thought it was a corner to start with, the ITV commentators didn't see the incident either.
Warnock should be more concerned at his defence allowing Petrov to roam freely into the box to win the header. The administrators will be happy anyway.

Well Paddy Evra doesn't seem to think it was as clear cut as you claim.
Whether it was dreadful error from the lino or a simple wrong choice when faced with a difficult decision, the simple fact is that Palace just had a corner given against them rather than having a goal kick. The way Warnock's been crying about it you'd think they had a goal wrongly disallowed or not had a blatant penalty given.
Whining over an incorrectly given corner is just pathetic.
Quote Warnock refrained from saying they were robbed/cheated but still said more than he wishes he had i'd imagine. The FA would prefer it if players stopped hassling refs. But it's difficult to clamp down on in the heat of the game.
They've made it very clear though that managers have even greater responsibility and they won't accept officials being slagged off on TV.
If managers are allowed to slag off refs then it's probable that the players will put even more pressure on refs. The players are already over the line in that respect so managers have to accept they can't use after-match interviews as a way of giving officials a kicking.

| What do people think of the Champions League Play Offs for teams finishing 4th-7th?
I'm completely against it myself.
It'll increase the length of the season for the players. It'll be extra fixtures to find room for, alongside international matches. It'll be extra fixtures for supporters to shell out for. It'll make recruiting for CL seasons even more difficult for the teams involved.
But I'm mainly against it because I just know that Liverpool or Arsenal are going to eventually fail to get 4th place and then the gits are going to win the play off and qualify anyway!

Will there be a trophey for the winner of the playoff? They could call it the Rafa cup
Seriously isn't 38 games enough time to prove your worth for a champions league place? Wonder if the FA would just want two semis and a final played at Wembley to help pay the damned thing off

Nah, does finishing 7th in a league give you the right to play in the Champions League? 7th is hardly champion material.
Perhaps 4th v FA Cup winner (if they aren't already in) would be better, with the loser getting the Europa League spot.

If Liverpool finish outside the top 4 they just appeal for justice to Uefa non stop until they are allowed in anyway. No need for a play off system.

But if United had finished 5th in 2005 and won the CL, they would have done nothing. They'd have been happy not to accept the offer to defend their trophy on the grounds of fair play.

No substance to the story but a report that a PL team is interested in bidding for an IPL franchise:

And what if Chelsea were to win the cup this season? Would the place then go to the runners up which quite conceivably be West Brom, Reading or Crystal Palace.
ATEOTD there are 4 places awarded to the 4 best achieving teams in our countrys league. To start giving a chance to the 7th placed team (which could easily be Liverpool this season) who could finish 25 points behind the team in 4th is daft. If Man City, Tottenham or Villa finish 4th this season they will deserve that spot and there should be no qualms about it.
