If something doesn't happen to him pretty sharpish I can see him retiring. The way he's playing at the moment he wouldn't get in a top level side. He's a man completely lacking in confidence in both his body and his ability. He has lost that pace and sharpness that made him such a threat in his early days at Liverpool.

After Saturday he's behind Sturridge as well now.

I don't mind him speaking out. I do think he's been awfully mis-used since signing for Chelsea. I think he's correct that too much of our play has been too slow. The service he has received has been minimal. But he's also been way below where he should have been as well.

If we could get £35m for him I think we'd cut our losses. Sturridge's emergence at Bolton has been CFC's only benefit from signing Torres.

It's a bit strange how far he really has fallen. I'd have said during his highest point at Liverpool that he was one of the best strikers in football, is it his attitude? Is it confidence? Fitness? Liverpool got rid at the right time, Chelsea's gamble has not paid off, and now he's on the bench warming it for Anelka of all people.

Rooney and Hernandez are the best partnership in the PL. The movement from Hernandez is outstanding and his finishing is clinical. Rooney is on fire and looks every inch a world class player again.

At Liverpool the ball was banged up to him as soon as we recieved it to give him time to run at defenders so he would in effect be creating alot of his own chances. It seems at Chelsea, the midfield are creating the chances for him and he's not putting them away. He's not finished and I'd still back him to score 15 league goals this season. 1 or 2 up until December and then 13 or so when he comes back to Liverpool for £12 million.

They aren't creating chances for him. He mainly gets the ball way out on the wing or 40m from goal. He's had the odd scrap to feed off, but that's all.

To be honest it would be less of a problem if he was getting chances but not finishing them. But the fact that that he isn't shows there's huge problems on both sides over Torres.

And for someone to don't rate Rooney is just stupid, in fact that part of your post is completely laughable. The lad is absolute class, I've never understood why you have this opinion of Rooney and never will. Look back at some of the goals he's scored and they're world class, his work rate is superb as is his fitness rate, he's constantly up and down the field for United and his desire is second to none but the bit of your post that got me was saying his influence on a game isn't in the upper echelons is bizarre, the goals he scores and sets up for United are vital to them and have been in everything they've acheived so far. How you can say his influence isn't what it should after he's just scored two hat tricks on the run is foolish.

He's already better than most strikers in Europe now and once he finished he'll go down as one of the best ever to play the game. ATEOTD he's a forward so he'll ultimately be judged on his goal scoring and nobody can call that, he scores goals for a laugh as well as setting them up, tracking back and giving everything for his club. The lad has every aspect to his game.

I would think so. It's gross misconduct in my eyes.

The club need to take their players off twitter if they don't want them sharing their opinions with the wider world. I can think of worse things that could drag a club's name through the mud, like corruption or assault.

It's got FA to do with his job.

Does his twitter account have a larger following because he's a LFC reserve player? If it does then he should have known that he was representing the club and that posting that could cost him. If he's got the same amount of followers as any other nobody then LFC don't have a right to fire him for it.

Modern day footballers should be aware they are always representing their club in their public lives.

Now he obviously wouldn't be sanctioned too badly if he were Luis Suarez or Stevie G, but it's still a mighty dumb thing to say publicly.

But this was his private life. He wasn't representing Liverpool and if anyone truly believes that his views were the views of Liverpool football club not only should they not have be on twitter, but they shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a mobile phone or computer.

But instead of trying to solve problems they're having with the club they've chosen to ring Talksport. All of those moaning about ticket prices being too expensive will want to be in Germany, should they get there, come May though.
