He is fantastic, and the only reason we were remotely in the game at the end. He brought us back. The only thing is he will get blamed for the loss because of his first play (over-excitment) and the last (not his fault).

There was also a blatant helmet to helmet hit on Rodgers on the previous play to the last which would have negated our holding penalty (IIRC) meaning we wouldn't be in that position.

Also it's claimed (although i'm not sure on this one) that Fitz last TD was pass interference on him because he pushed Woodson over after the 5 yards.

Woodson should still be DPOY (but i think after this weekend they will be swayed and go Revis). Even in a bad performance the three key stops of Arizona all came at the hand of Woodson. Force fumble, tipped pass to force the punt, coin flip call!

I personally don't think it was pass interference by Fitz after watching it again. He is just running his route and they get tangled up. They could have called it either way but it would have been harsh.

It is undeniable it was a facemask. The question is whether it came before or after Rodgers lost possession.

AFTER losing possession the Arizona get the ball but are penalised (15 yards) and have to score. With Rakers missing it earlier it wasn't guaranteed they would score.

BEFORE losing possession and it is a 15 yard penalty and we maintain possession of the ball.


I think Rodgers still has it in hand until the point the defenders hand jars down on his facemask bar. Thus remaining our ball.

Offensive players are allowed to give defensive players some stick after the 5 yard boundary just not the other way round so thats why it wasn't called.

NFL rules favour offensive players remember..

Your right if the facemask happened before Rodgers release it could have helped you win the game however if it happened after even with a 15 yard penalty I still think Warner would have got close enough for a chip shot field goal they may have even just gone for a TD knowing that Rackers was shaky on the last kick, like you say both D`s were shocking and Warner was on fire last night hopefully he can carry it on next week in New Orleans and if the Saints decide to turn up we will get another shootout

You're quite right on all counts. The refs in both games last night were such "homers" it was appalling.

On the 2nd Fitz TD it was blatant offensive pass interference and the roughing the passer call was BS.

I guarantee you this, if its' Brady or Manning on that final play facemask gets called and a 15 yard penalty is given.

Packers got the two 15 yarder horsecollar tackles which I thought were a bit soft tbh. I always assumed that for a horsecollar you had to be yanked backwards when tackled rather than be simply brought down while grabbing onto the collar, the latter of which happened last night.

Horsecollar is being tackled by the back inside of the shoulder pads. Yanking down is generally inidcative of it, but not always. It was expanded in 2006 to include the back of the jersey collar also. Both the tackles were horsecollar tackles, the one on Rodgers was more blatant though.

That's one of the worst non-calls for offensive pass interference I've ever seen. The DB is allowed to hold his position, the receiver has to go around him. He can't just barrel straight into him, knock him to the floor and play on.

The facemask was a 50-50 call, I thought the contact was incidental and as a result of the player swatting the ball back onto Rodgers' head rather than anything else. The helmet to helmet non-call on Berry the play before however was ridiculous.

If that is right about recievers having to go around the DB then both of his TD's were OPI.

Facemask even at 50/50 would still have negated the TD.

Still was a hell of a game the Packers and Cardinals gave us last night. Shame the defences on each team was a joke.

I can handle defeat, and i'm over the moon with the effort shown to get back in the game, but that was some of the worst officiating i've seen.

It got lost in the excitment of it all with it back and forth but the calls went against us especially in OT. Flagrant helmet to helmet (not called), clear as day facemask to end the game which is a 15 yard penalty and retention of the ball (not called), two questionable OPI calls not made on Fitzgerald (not called) at the same time one resulted in a phantom roughing the passer call on Warner where Jenkins was blocked into him.

They give that as roughing the passer but headbutting Rodgers with the crown of your helmet is fine.

Would we have won anyway...who knows. Especially the two by Fitz. If they were called they probably score anyway. The final facemask and helmet to helmet are unforgivable though.

I hope the Cardinals get murdered by New Orleans and the referee should be given a ban.

The Jets had a couple of really bad pass interference calls go against them and still won....and if I remember rightly there was an unseen/uncalled facemask by Woodson early in the second quarter too so its swings and roundabouts...though the facemask at the end did have me scratching my head a bit as it did look pretty clear cut...home-town officiating?? More than likely.

Im sorry but these things happen in every game yeah when you write them down like that it makes them look worse but it happens to every team over the course of a season IMO. If it was any other team than yours I bet it wouldnt bother you half as much if you noticed them at all.

I would be pretty annoyed if it was my team but at the end of the day you cant do nothing about it apart from coming back next year and giving it another go!

Of course i wouldn't care if it was any other team and your right we can't do anything about it, but questions need to be asked of why the officials missed two blatant attacks at our QB in OT. They were hardly disguised, and isn't there an official who watches the pocket/QB? Along with what others have said is blatant OPI (personally i'm not sure on the PI).All especially in a year when QB's are wrapped in cotton wool. As somebody else has said, if it was Brady taking the helmet to helmet or facemask it is a flag every day of the week.

Or do you disagree that it was a facemask/helmet to helmet? Also i don't think there are 3 potentially wrong calls which directly resulted in scores in every game or for every team, certainly not in a game where it is win or you are out.

I'm not saying we'd have won or that we deserved to with the way our defence played (we probably didn't), but it is more annoying losing a game like that and to have an exceptional game marred by the fact the refs missed major calls.

For OPI to get called the receiver basically has to kill the cornerback and the 5 yard rule does not apply, this is why OPI calls are so rare.

While the facemask call was wrong the offensive pass interference calls were correctly judged

Fitzgerald physically pushed and ran down Woodson. If that isn't PI then why in circumstances when there are tipped balls, jump balls etc is that OPI where it may be as little as pulling the shirt or knocking the defenders hand?(Genuine question).

PI is:

Actions that constitute offensive pass interference include but are not limited to:

(a) Blocking downfield by an offensive player prior to the ball being touched.

(b) Initiating contact with a defender by shoving or pushing off thus creating a separation in an attempt to catch a pass.

(c) Driving through a defender who has established a position on the field.

With the Packers now out (ROBBED!!) i'm going to support my two favourite remaining players Ray Rice and Brett Favre. Part of me wants Favre to win it because obviously he is my favourite player ever but i just can't support the Vikes wholeheartedly with them being rivals.
