Amusing all the Newcastle fans texting into the BBC bascially saying the relegation is all down to Mike Ashley .
Fact is the club never recovered from Fat Freddy sacking Bobby Robson because fifth in the Premier League wasn`t good enough for a club of Toons stature ( his words ) .
I can remember then Manchester City Chairman Peter Swales sacking a manager many years ago because Man City only came fifth ( John Bonds ? ) - it took the club the best part of thirty years to recover .

Credit where credit is due. A team of 'average' players has none the less stayed in the premier league. It makes no difference how they did it or by how much they stayed up by. They stayed up and that is that!!

The club certainly could have ensured their safety in the PL for seasons to come. It is entirely Newcastle's fault. They've spent the money, they've had the crowds. Geordie fans should be furious today.

Most importantly for them, they live to fight for another season and will have more money than if they'd been relegated plus the experience of this season to take stock of.
