| Quote ="Cibaman"Is that how they're doing it? Must admit I just assumed that most fans would enter the ground but stay on the concourse for the first 10 mins of the match.
Either way the safety implications seem horrendous as fans rush to take up their seats. If they do delay the start wont the fans feel obliged to stay outside until 10mins after the revised start time? A delayed start in itself will not be that effective as a protest.'"
There's a few possible plans, including standing on the concourse and standing out of the ground.
A delayed start wouldn't have the same visible effect, however "unfortunately the kick off has been delayed due to thousands of Manchester United fans outside the ground" would still send a message.

| Is it feasible the fans protest could make it impossible to stage the match safely? 3-0 to Milan?

On the broader discussion about the anti-Glazer campaign, of course there are problems in organising and trying to get rid of such a powerful family like the Glazer's but I'm just glad United fans spotted the danger from minute one and tried to act to stop it and are continuing to beat the drum of protest of now. On the flip side Liverpool fans could not wait to bend over for their American owners and now they are all up in arms in opposition to them.
People took different stances in how to oppose the takeover and the split in the fans was certainly damaging but some of that thankfully seems to disappearing now with the new momentum behind the green and gold campaign. I was part of the 'not one penny' group but fell back into going after 4 years. Now every time you see some of the total goons populating the terraces at Old Trafford it makes you more determined to stop our club becoming totally over run by the sort of people who don't know why there is a minute silence on the 6th February.
The new momentum in attempting to get rid of the Glazer's, getting chubbed for the Milk Cup Final despite being raped for both Wolves and Tottenham at home and attending both the aways, the continued and ever increasingly awful way United are treating the fans, the inevitable price rise and the almost pointless nature of a season ticket is making me unsure whether to renew next season. Might just get a membership and do the Euro aways, the odd away game and the decent home games.
Die Glazer!

Fella, you are making yourself look a complete prick by making statements like that. When the Americans bought us, most Liverpool supporters I knew were disappointed that they came in, they knew we needed the unlimited funds of the Arabs. The Americans raised hopes with their early promises and big talking, but in less than 12 months the majority of our supporters had turned on them. Maybe the Liverpool fans you know bent over for the Americans, but the ones I knew certainly didn't, furthermore, the majority of United supporters I knew weren't fussed on the Glazers taking over. Of course, I'm not stupid enough to tar all with the same brush.

| Okay, so the Glazers have suddenly decided that they don't want to put up with the awful strain that the Green and Gold campaign is putting on them. They are prepared to sell the club for it's fair market value.
I don't know how much the club is worth at present, but the last figure I saw mentioned was roughly about £800m.
So you've got three "Red Knights" each willing to stump up £200m. The Red Knights want the rest of the MU supporters to pay the remaining £200m
Now what?
Are you hoping these Red Knights are handing over £200m out of the goodness of their hearts, or are they in it for a profit as well?

Let's be honest, 606 isn't the view of Liverpool supporters as a whole. Many were sweetened early on by their big promises, but the majority knew all along that DIC was what we needed, massive investment to come in, fund a stadium and transform the squad. Some people thought the Americans would do this with all their talk early on, but it didn't take people long to realize. The majority of Liverpool supporters who were happy, were only happy because they thought we'd finally get some kind of investment, that we'd finally start catching up on United and we wouldn't have to 'sell to buy' every summer. But, they were wrong and the Americans have screwed us over. Some fans might have bent over for the Americans, but there were large portions who were unhappy and were wary of the threat they posed to the club.

At least 50 Red Knights have stated they want to pump cash to buy the Club. MUST (who are coordinating the deal) and IMUSA ideally want whoever that comes in to offer a % stake in the Club. MUST/IMUSA aren't stupid enough to realise that they will get the stake for free.
The realistic price that the Glazer's will sell is around £1.2billion.
The Red Knights will obviously be in it to earn money, just as all shareholders did when the club was a PLC. However, unlike the Glazer's they won't be pumping millions of debt onto the Club, nor taking 75p from every £1 to service the debt, or line their own pockets.

I've only attended a handful on home games this season. I'm pretty lucky that I know a few people in the loyalty pot, so I've managed to get to a few aways. The only negative point I've had from not renewing, is that I've not been to OT every week, but it was impossible for me to renew this season.

We've got a Facebook group for sorting away tickets if you fancy joining it?
It's funny how the often derided League Cup has provided the best aways of the season in Barnsley and City. Boston away with FC is where it is at anyway, GT will tell you that. Oh wait he has never been to Boston!

It would be fascinating observing 50+ multi millionaires, with associated egos, pumping £20m ish each into the club and then sitting back with the rights that 2% shareholders enjoy.
How would they make any significant decisions? How would they deal with, say, a transfer request from Rooney? In theory they would set up some sort of governance stucture to make those decisions, but people with that sort of money are generally not used to the role of sleeping partners.

| Do you know what the problem with nal is?
Wenger is too damn stubborn.
He's too stubborn to admit his ''young guns policy'' was wrong and that he needs to dip his hand into his pocket and sign some big experienced players. All he ever does is sign young inexperienced but with potential.
He's too stubborn to go back on his total football philosophy when the time arises and play more direct to win the big games.
He's a stubborn idiot and nal will not win the title again while he is in charge.

No it wasn't. The italians were a nasty set of kunts. Only liverpool were bothered about segregating the fans, no one else. Italian fans threw rocks at liverpool fans and players.
That could easily have killed or seriously njured people.
The only tradegy there was that innoncent italians died and not the trouble makers.

| Can't see any sort of protest working at the Milan game. The one being suggested was tried in 05 and had no impact. The best thing now is for the green and gold to gather pace between now and the end of the season, and then try and get some organised effort for people to give up season tickets and either boycott or get a membership instead. No - one would be tied to the Cup scheme (which after attending every league cup game doesn't even guarantee you a ticket for the final), the people who say they can't give up Utd could pick and choose their games with the membership and the Glazers would only be getting £30 upfront per fan instead of £700+.
As for the £1.2bn asking price, it is upto the fans to devalue the 'brand' of MUFC to the point where the Glazers would be happy to accept the first reasonable offer that comes in rather than hang on for the top market price.

Where were the much proclaimed Spirt of Shankly group as the takeover of LFC was taking place? Had they been formed back then or were they set up post takeover? (Genuine question btw, not having a dig).

| Would be good to see a joint Utd/Liverpool protest at the upcoming game at OT. Couldn't see it happening though. However if a few thousand whistles were to be taken into the ground by fans of both clubs it would make for an interesting afternoon.
