Twins win the first of today's double header in 10 innings pulling them to within a game of the Tigers. Should be an electric atmosphere there tonight.

Adam Lind hit 3 homers at Fenway last night before Paplebon went bushleague and plunked him in the 9th. What a tit. Thankfully Frasor manager to cling on for the save and a thoroughly deserved victory.

Wonder if Doc will retaliate tonight? Somehow I doubt it. With the Bosox clinching the wildcard spot anyway, we could see a rare Jays sweep in Boston tonight.

Chris Carpenter just hit his first career home run and not only is it against the Reds in the top of the second it's a grand slam lol.

Looks like I was wrong about the good doctor. He beaned Ortiz last night as payback for Lind. It wasn't a fastball and fair play to Papi for taking it so well. He was pretty much the only target with everyone else being rested (i.e. Hung Over) after a late night of celebrations.

If only the season lasted 2 weeks, we'd be killing it!

We're murdering the long ball right now, another 4 last night, 13 at Fenway over the 3 game series and and a total of 46 for the month of September (a new franchise record). It's been fun to watch - which I suppose is some consolation for some of the garbage we've had to put up with.

Well I have to admit to jumping on the Rockies bandwaggon this afternoon. This is the first time I have been to Coors Field for a few years. Rockies beat the Brewers to clinch at least the wild card and still have a remote chance of the division. Scalped 2 club level front row tickets for $25.
Then a walk to the Pepsi to watch the Avs opener with the Joe Sakic retirement ceremony. Scalped a lower bowl ticket for $20. A nice affordable afternoon and evening.

Its all gone a bit mental here. Yesterday a story breaks that the Jays players pretty much to a man are unhappy with Cito. The Jays react today by giving JP his marching orders (oh happy day!

). I'm pretty sure Cito will be following him come Monday. The clearout has begun!

I'd like to change my mind about Jake Peavy,after he turned us down in may I called him overated but after watching him pitch against the Tigers last night I can now say he's going to win 20+ games for us next year.With him,Buerle and Danks etc our pitching is set for next year we just need to hit better.

The White Sox are doing their best to ruin the Tigers season winning the 1st 2 games this weekend and now the Tigers are only tied with the Twins in the division lead with 1 game left.

Twins & Tigers play-off tomorrow. Should be electric.

Which ever team wins will get swept by the Yankees.It happened to us last year,used up too much nervous energy getting a tie in the division and winning the playoff it messed up the pitching rotation and we had nothing left against the Rays.

Both teams could have everything left and they would still get swept by the Yankees. In fact, they could pool their best players to form one team and they'd still struggle.



I'm pinning my hopes on the Angels this year for the AL title.

That was some game last night. Both teams fighting it out, coming from behind, throwing everything they had at eachother. Hats of to both teams and congrats to the Twins. It could be a tough night in New York for them off the back of that but hopefully the adrenaline is still flowing, giving them the edge they'll need to compete.

Anybody that calls baseball boring should watch a tape of last night's game.

Hell of a finish to the Phillies/Rockies game last night. No real surprises for me with the 4 teams making it through to the finals. So, Phillies to take the NL and Angels to shock the Yankees and take the AL.

Some potentially great match-ups for the series i.e. Freeway series, Torre vs Yankees, Yankees vs World Champs. The least interesting is probably Angels vs Phillies. I've booked the week off for the World Series so I'm hoping it goes beyond the four games and would love a seven game series.

I don't think there's a dull possible final in there tbh. It all looks good.

Great game last night. I'm hoping the Halos-Yankees game will go the full distance because I can't see the Dodgers keeping the Phillies offence quiet long enough to stretch their series out.

Another great game tonight in Los Angeles. Into the top of the ninth now.

Hopefully, the sunshine will bring out the best in the Angels and they'll take the next two to make it interesting. Can't see anything but another win for the Phillies on their patch. It might go to 6 games, but I doubt it.

Great come back by the Angels last night. I feared the worst after they got a guy on 3rd and no outs and couldn't bring him home. That's usually all the Yankees need to take the game away from you. But they dug their heels and and got the win. Game on.



Looks like the Phillies are going to prove too much for the Dodgers. Can't see past a Phiilies win right now.

Great games last night. I'm hoping the Angels can push all the way because the Phillies look like they're through. They're playing excellently at the moment.
