| Quote ="Sheddy"I was massively dissapointed with Paulie, he talked up a good fight during the build-up but was overwhelmingly outclassed by a rejuvenated Ricky Hatton.'"
I just couldn't understand where the hype has come from for Paulie. He was awful in his previous 3 fights since winning the world title and he has no names on his record. At least Hatton has beaten some quality boxers like Tsyzu, Callazo and Castillo. He has no punching power and whilst he' technically good, he's going to do very little against fighters with good chins like Hatton.
Quote ="PAUL M"Pleased Hatton won so well, tbh I don't see much point in him fighting De La Hoya as he has nothing to gain but money as Hoya seems to be finished.'"
Past it maybe, but he'd still be favourite against Ricky purely for his size. Hatton/Pacquiao would be a better fight - two fighters pretty much in their prime.

Although I hate to admit it and would thoroughly voice my support for Hatton, I think defeat is on the cards against either fighter, De La Hoya, although passed it, has experienced weight divisions ranging from 130 to 160 lbs so its not like he will be boarding new territory if he agrees to fight hatton at 140 or more so 147
But Hatton should fear Pacquiao more just for his sheer explosive knockout punches he posseses, We will determine whether Floyd Snr's techniques have truely worked there magic, as I think it was unfair to judge this after fighting a pathetic excuse of a "boxer" in Paulie Maginaggli
I just hope his next fight isn't many moons away.

De La Hoya would be a massive fight both in the UK and US and would be an obvious choice, what has happened to Cotto these days?

Im big fan of Cotto and his style but he got dismantled in his last fight vs Antonio Margarito, yet again he showed a lack of fitness in the latter rounds of the fight and ultimately lost it.

| Awesome fight, Hatton looked close to (if not) back to his best. Malignaggi wouldn't do a thing about it. He showed signs of the Kosta Tyszu (if I spelt it right) fight.
James Kirkland is one to watch out for the future, that boy has one heck of a punch on him.

Special talent. His record is phenominal even at 24 and IIRC he has just signed with Golden Boy promotions to, so expect to see plenty more of him over the next 12 months.
Interestingly as a side note he is trained by a woman.

Cotto will be back soon. He fought at the end of July, so it's not that long since his last fight. I imagine he'll have a tune up fight to get some confidence back before going for Margarito again or a big name fighter. Who knows, maybe Ricky will step up to Welter again to face him?
Quote ="Wicket"James Kirkland is one to watch out for the future, that boy has one heck of a punch on him.'"
Awesome young fighter. They call him the 'new Tyson' and you can see why. He battered Vera the other day, although he's a bit suspect defensively so some areas to work on. But, he's a great talent and I'm surer we'll see him dominate the middleweight divisions in the next 10 years.

| Pacquaio v De La Hoya this weekend. Big step up for Pacquaio and I'd love it if he won, but I can't see it. I've got a feeling De La Hoya will have way too much power and a knock out could be on.

I'd obviously like to see Manny win to guarantee the fight with Ricky, but reading that I get a sneaky feeling Ricky will go for Manny whatever the result at the weekend.

If Ricky is smart about it, he should choose Pacquaio. If he does go on to fight Pacquaio and beats him, he could fight absolutely anybody he wants to. Don't be surprised if Mayweather jnr gets a little more interested.

| Been having an argument with a mate of mine. Where does DLH rank in the list of all-time greats. Personally I think he's overrated, yes he's beaten some decent champions but Whitiker was robbed and Julio Ceaser Chavez was about 90 when he beat him. Plus he never really dominated in one division for a sustained period, which I think is one of the essential criteria when wanting to be considered an ATG. Plus most damning of all IMO is the fact that whenever he's come up against fellow greats at their peaks (Mosley twice, Trinidad, Mayweather, Hopkins) he's been beaten, some of his defeats were close but not that close.

| On the fight... I think is Pacman can get past the first 4 or 5 rounds he has a chance. There is a chance DLH could be weight-drained and lack the stamina to go the distance.
