The England Lions concept really needs to be revisited.

I can see its value in terms of overseas tours during the winter, but thought has to be given on scheduling during the summer.

Having games in the middle of a Test series and a round of Championship games causes real disruption to counties. I know the ECB really don't give a flying one about anything other than Team England, but when you're penalising counties for producing English players by taking them away (over and above the centrally contracted ones) it's rendering the county game meaningless.

Good day out in Glasgow yesterday to see Lancs do the double over Scotland in 40 over cricket for the first time. Huge relief when we got the ten overs in to guarantee a result!

I didn't fancy us at Notts, but even with the new overseas chappy getting a first-baller, this has gone pretty bloody well so far.

Judging by the last two days of Championship cricket, some bookmakers in Notts and Derbyshire are going to take a right caning on Durham winning the title.

Unless the ECB pitch inspector gets brought in, already 12 wickets in half a day.

Durham seem to have steadied the ship, though. I believe Notts have been poor recently, so the scoreline wasn't that big a shock, although I would have expected a few more on the board...
