5pts for 1st. 2 for 2nd. 1 for 3rd?

And to try and reward persons not backing the favourites, maybe an extra point or two if the horse backed is over 5/1?

William Hill have Zarkandar at 8/1 for the Champion Hurdle this morning.

I was told 7/1 from sources yesterday but 8/1 is very brave from WH. Doubting anyone else will dare to match that.

first the fly offer, now this on zarkandar - wonder if they've heard something from hendo and JP to indicate binocular is tearing up the gallops at home.

Wouldn't trust Nicky Henderson as far as I could throw him. Doubt Hills would make such drastic price changes based on hearsay, but then there must be some logic behind their decisions.

depends on binoculars price on the day, a drift will probably mean JP has got the gold down before hedging it.

rock on ruby has just as much chance as zarkandar IMO, fehily a better jock than jacob and the stiff finish is right up RoR's street as he was just touched off last year in the neptune by the very strongly finishing first leiutenant.

oscar's well could also lay it down to zarkandar.

the logic behind those two offers surely is that a peak binocular could rattle the fly, and that unless zark sprouts wings has a job on for third. people will see it as 8/1 nice profit if he finishes third, but not quite that simple IMO.

what about ten quid per person per race or 5er e/w? i know the points way would be easier, but that way would maybe give a truer refelection?

i dont mind, either way i'll have a stab.

Zarkandar has a lot to find on official ratings, could well improve significantly but perhaps going out to beat the big guns could see him beaten into a place.
Had a dream last night that Hurricane Fly fell at the last when cruising and Quevega was beaten on the bob, woke up in a cold sweat!

see willie has left her in the world hurdle, along with another 5. along with the rest of his entries so far, he gets harder to second-guess by the day!

Played Menorah e/w in the Arkle with Paddy Power at 9's, just think that Hobbs has seemed to get the horses right on the day at Cheltenham and Captain Chris was similar to Menorah last year with his jumping problems, admittidly didn't have a horse with the class of Sprinter Sacre to beat but managed to get it right on the day. He's also been with Yogi Breisner so hopefully that's had a positive effect, along with the fast pace that will hopefully give him less chance to look at the fences and if SS doesn't make it up the hill then hopefully he's there to pounce but if he does money back.

Agree - been mulling over who to back out of Cue Card or Menorah and leaning towards Menorah for the Hobbs factor. Fell last time out but you get the feeling he is ready for this. Also liking Nicholls 2nd entry Cristal Bonus, but more likely to run in the Jewson.

Kid Cassidy is another to be watched with some consistent form. Never won at Cheltenham though and will probably do best going for the Grand Annual.

The Supreme Novices is turning into a very hot race aswell. Liking Cinders and Ashes and also Steps to Freedom.

Reckon we're looking at fast ground this week folks, which rules out a place bet on Cue Card.
