Went in to back So You Think. Was 4/9 on the screen, but my ears slightly pricked when told the mega price was 8/15 so lumped a ton on.

Might back Shamoos later but think that'll be my only bet today, also had Frankel and SYT in an antepost double which will pay at evens.

Have got a treble going on with NSW +4 this morning onto So You Think and Shumoosh.

Heard the Irish fancy Super Say in the Hunt Cup but theres not been much money for it this morning though, although I have backed it each way at 18's.

O'Brien just said he possibly didn't train him properly for the race, and maybe wasn't fit enough.

Why didn't he say that this f*cking morning? After training horses for as long as he has, he is bound to know when a horse is at the top of his game.

Cost me a bit in that treble waiting and that blows the double with Shumoos already, even more gutting when O'Brien says he didn't train well enough!

Hopefully Shumoos can save the day and recover some of the losses.

Regarding "hype", take Frankel; Since Mister Baileys in 93, 10 horses have clocked faster times than Frankel in the Guineas, in the St James's Palace Stakes, 7 have clocked faster times than Frankel since Grand Lodge in 94, most of which will be run on good, fast ground, and yet, Frankel has been hyped up as the next Pegasus.

Imo, this year's 3yos are a poor bunch, with Frankel the best of the lot.

Bookies well and truly on the up today.

It was brilliant to see Rewilding turn SYT over today, mainly because I had a few quid ew on Rewilding, but also for the way O'Brien uses his pacemakers. He's wasting a good horse in Jan Vermeer, once a derby favourite, and very good horse yet O'Brien's decided to use him as a pacemaker. Sooner he loses his obsession with the pacemaker the better.

Why the fook would you send a horse to race in a G1 contest when it isn't 100%, that shows a massive error and also a massive disrespect to the rest of the field so get the fook in Frankie!!

Not for me. To back two horses and watch the pair of them get mown down just before the line is absolutely gutting.

Was tempted to play Cape Dollar in the last on the reasoning that Stoute has very fun runners, and when he sends them they normally do well like mentioned a few time son this thread. Decided against it so no doubt it's going to hack up now.

Went up to Ascot yesterday - great day, though rather spoilt by no winners



A few observations - Peslier put up 2lbs over on Goldikova, and got beat a short-looking length. The accepted weight to distance equivalent for a mile race is 2lbs = 1 length... Having said that, Canford Cliffs was impressive, and I'd take it to beat Frankel should they both line up in the Sussex.

As for today, Dettori gets a nine day ban for thrashing the living out of Rewilding in winning by a neck. Not sure that this makes the result acceptable, myself.

Short head the other way and it would of been spot on



Winner is a winner though.

Rain continues to come down and the forecast for the next 2 days is not too good. Only remaining part of a poor patent is Holberg @ 10s, though the ground looks to be going against him and in favour of my saver Manighar @14s. Fallon seemed quite confident about him earlier.

Nothing else of interest atm for the rest of the meeting, though if the ground is genuinely soft come saturday, then Cavalryman becomes interesting for the Hardwicke.
