The figure quoted is specious nonsense. What period does it cover? How many were deflections off his àrse? What does that work out at £ per goal? How many days did he spend at the racecourse? What is his goals per helicopter hours ratio? Or his goals to distraught Geordies quotient?

The fact is that, in your usual blinkered fashion, you have jumped on that statistic purely because he has joined United. Anywhere else you would have pooh-poohed it.

Obertan can't be that good, his club loaned him out last season. It seems we are not in the market for big signings the way this transfer window is going. Obertan, Nani and Tosic, not sure about any of them, on the other hand we could make a move for David Silva.

Just because he was loaned out doesn't mean he's a bad player. Qaresma is a fantastic player but he was loaned out. But even thought he's a fantastic player he's evidently an even bigger **** and not worth having in a side.

Not that that would make a good signing for United if that is the case, but Obertan could simply be a player too good for Bordeaux and willing to act badly to force the club to allow him to play for someone who he feels is worthy of him.

I've seen a few videos of him on that popular video site and his play reminds me of a young Thiery Henry. Tall, thin ,quick and skillfull and made fools of one or two defenders but i think if he does sign he'd definatly need to put on a bit of timber ala Ronaldo
