Anyway, back on track. I think if everything comes off that is rumoured Mr Kenwright has done well. He clearly doesn't want to sell players to give money to the bank, but can't really turn down any realistic fees given the financial pressure he's no doubt under. Arteta wasn't named in his list of players he couldn't sell so I think this one has been coming a while. If he gets £10m in cash it's not so great but should ease the pressure, if he gets a couple of players in (Arg striker plus Drenthe) as they are now suggesting it's not so bad. A cash plus players from Arsenal has been mentioned which would be better still. The departures of the Yak and Beckford aren't great but neither was going to play for us long term.

The volume of transfers don't exist in RL to justify it. And having a transfer window isn't going to create the demand for transfers.

Would give us a VERY solid, un-Newcastle-like defence, good mix of pace, skill and graft in the midfield and goal potential up front. That is a 25 man squad I would be very, very happy with.

Real shame we haven't got shot of Alan Smith, what a waste of valuable wage money he is. James Perch likewise.
