Aint betting a funny old game?

Been on quite a poor run lately just with the odd decent win, but loads of bets where just one lets me down. It's been a case of a double returns a winner and a 2nd, a treble returns two winners and a 2nd etc, etc...

Anyway, today having spent ages looking through the form for today's racing and football I had another poor day, but on the way to the Wakey match tonight just stopped off at the bookies as I had a bit of spare change, bit pushed for time so very quickly scanned the Wolverhampton card and picked out a fiver double on La Gifted (7/1) and Snowberry Hill (7/2) result = £180 to collect tomorrow...

As I say, it's a funny old game..

College Causeway was amazing in taking the Irish Greyhound Derby, it was like watching Westmead Hawk at his best.

Feared the worst for it at the first bend when it looked at though it was gonna get badly hampered between 4 and 6, I've seen worse collisions. Amazing stuff to come from last like that and tank through the field to win goin away, great dog..

Main bet today and quite strong on this horse Incanto Dream in the Prix Gladiateur at 16:10

The selection contested this event last year when he was brought to a stand still when attempting to make his run up the inside rail, the impressive winner that day was Kasbah Bliss who had the run of the race (the runner-up in this last year and the selection both turned the form around in the Prix Du Cadran on Arc weekend) - Incanto Dream had to concede 7lbs that day, today he'll be receiving 2lbs Kasbah Bliss and he's won first time out in the two previous seasons that he's raced (both over trips short of his best).

Of the other runners the main danger will come from Pointilliste who's a course and distance winner already this season and will likely get a soft lead on the front as he did when taking the Group 3 Prix De Barbeville at the course in April.

Will be having a small reverse forecast on the two also.

The real kick in the teeth is that I thought long and hard about whether to go for 4 that should have a good chance or 3 with only a reasonable chance. My 3 were going to be Villa, Newcastle and Venlo all of who have won (or in Newcastle's case surely will win).

in the speedway for me tonight.

Poole are desperate for all 3 points for a win by more than 6 but they blew it against Belle Vue on Thursday and the pressure they are under could well lead to mistakes.

Not sure Peterborough can do enough to win the meeting but keeping it close and at least taking it to the last few races looks possible and a 2 or 4 point defeat.
