He had one good game for City at Old Trafford but was pretty poor apart from that.

Aye - he did very well for us last season after a VERY shaky start. He got sent off on our first game of last season v the Mutton Molesters and then, when he had served his ban, he got sent off again in his very next game for the reserves thus leading to a longer ban!
He took a bit of time to bed in but he became one of our best players last season (alongside Hunt, Gomis and Robson) and even score the goal voted in one of the polls as goal of the season (a snorter versus St Midden at Courtney Love Street)
Out of his depth in The Prem I can understand because if he was anywhere near good enough for that level he would not be with United but he is top class for us little teams.
He wants to stay with us (bizarrely his family like the area) and we are happy to keep him so a good deal for all.

| Oh - and on another note - congratulations to Annan Athletic for getting elected to the league. It is made even better for two reasons....
1. They are near neighbours of Gretna, whos' "faithful" fans will be even MORE sick to see a rival doing so well on the back of QOS getting into the UEFA Cup.
2. They beat an Aberdeen team in Cove Rangers in the final ballot. Always a treat to see an Aberdeen side lose.
The only downside is that I now have to visit Annan so that I can say I have been to all senior grounds in Scotland. I have been to Cove several times in the past but never to Annan.

Isn't somewhere over Stranraer way? Girl I used to work with was a Stranraer fan and we looked at the logistics of getting to one of their games without driving. Basically we'd have had to set off Friday to get there for 3pm Saturday, it's that godforsaken.

It is apparently 8.5 miles from Gretna so you are in the right area (i.e. South West Scotland) but a fair trek from Stranraer methinks.
That said, Stranraer is a fair trek from anywhere!

Sorry to disappoint you chief
The sending off in the reserve game didn't lead to a longer game as it was only a second booking but if it was a straight red he would have been banned.
IIRC Flood's second sending off was the day after Christian's sending off at Rugby Park. Floody's sending off was even more bizarre getting sent-off for taking a quick free-kick.
Unbelieveable scenes!!

I was at the Tannadice Open Day the other day and the full first team squad were there training so I reckon we will be OK.
Noel Hunt however has signed for Reading today for a tasty £600 grand.
At least the new Arab Sand Dancer scored two yesterday v Dunfermline and Feeney nailed a hat-trick v Raith on Saturday!
Three days to go till the Barca friendly. Do you want me to get you a programme as a gift and send it down LS?

Oor refs deserve **** all. They are dreadful.
However, on a lighter note, the Road to Hampden starts up here today as the first round of the CIS Cup takes place. I am off to enjoy the delights of Recreation Park Alloa for a clash of the titans between the mighty Wasps and Elgin City.
It should be a richt humdinger.

On the flip side that means they will probably win the league now but at least the residents of a few European cities can sleep easier in their beds tonight.

No they won't. Last night's result will have a massive impact on the league. The cream buns are skint and needed the money from CL qualification in order to improve a dreadful squad.
I know that Scottish football is bad, but it not so bad that a side with the likes of David Weir, Christian Dailly, Kirk Broadfoot, Lee McCulloch, Nacho No Goals and Daniel Coo's Ar$e will win the league.
Oh, and Velicka, Lafferty, Gow, Miller, Ferguson.
And, Papac, Darcheville..............

| Just received this little message from my Celtic fan mate regarding Rangers elimination last night!!
"You could look at last nights result in a number of ways, they're out before Halloween, out before the kids are back at school, out before the season has started, but I prefer to look at it as out of Europe before Queen of the South.

Better Put All Your Effort Into The Scottish League Cup & Scottish Cup Again
I'm really looking forward to the signing of Marc Crosas from Barcelona, certainly a young player with lots of potential and a player the didn't really want to lose on a permanent basis, although i am very surprised that according to reports there is an option for Barcelona to buy him back for €2m at the end of the 2009/10 season.

So in effect, it's a long-term loan with the option for Celtic to buy at the end. If not, then the difference between the two sums has been the fee for his "loan".

Aye. But then again these things even themselves out over a season do they not?
Still, good to see the paranoid Celtic fans nothing to query now. Week 1 of the season they get a ridiculous penalty award (and subsequent red card) in their favour. Week 2, they could have conceded 3 penalties, including one stone waller, that gets waved away.
TBH, I am close to having had enough of the SPL. It is getting more and more corrupt by the day.

Well on the basis you always complained that Rangers get them too, it was always going to be even!
Awful display. Score flattered Celtic to be honest.
Never mind, it's still three in a row. Nothing is won by the end of August. In Rangers case, it isn't won even if the bookies stop taking bets on it in April.
